White Collar is just fun, which is what I enjoy about it. It isn't deep and doesn't really try to be. I suspect more than anything else it is that quality that makes it so awesome for fic writing! And because I am DEEPLY DEEPLY PREDICTABLE, I come bearing recs for my OT3 on the show, Peter/Elizabeth/Neal. Because hi - how can you watch them having such fun every week and NOT ship them? ♥_♥ (For

Reproductive Rights/Motherhood)
Reasonable Doubt 'verse by

Whatever Peter might believe, Kate isn't an ingénue, and Neal misses her more as a partner in crime than as a lover. For love, he can look closer to home. If he's completely honest with himself, he's already started.

In the beginning, Peter tries to shine a light on every dark dumb corner of his own mind, asks himself often if he is being incredibly stupid. Neal is good, so good, but nothing about him in their bed or in their life feels wrong. He feels right the way El feels right. Eventually, as their life settles into a shape more satisfying than he had ever dreamed possible, Peter just decides that he's an exceptionally lucky bastard, and mostly stops worrying.

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you,
Prison life is tedious
But I try not to hold it against you.
Do you know the prison jumpsuits are all the same colour? Talk about cruel and unusual punishment!

"You've gotten so good at flirting with men, honey," Elizabeth says, tightening the knot of Peter's tie. She sounds proud.
"Funny," Peter says, before he pecks her on the lips.
I taught him, Neal mouths to her.
Ground Floor and
Stem Game by
entropical87 (PG-13)
"Want to give him a show he'll never forget?" she asks when she hears Peter’s car pull into the driveway. A devious little smile tugs at the corners of her mouth.
“What?” he asks, shoulders stiffening in surprise as his posture becomes abruptly very upright; but it’s rhetorical. Neal doesn’t mistake her meaning. "Are you sure? He won't...?" He trails off, searching her face with concern. He has a lot to lose if this goes wrong, Elizabeth knows, but there’s no refusal in his words.
Communication by
travels-in-time (PG)
The second year the anger has settled to a slow burn. He's figured out the ins and outs of the prison, has come up with four different plans of escape already. But it's not worth it. He'll do his time, be a model prisoner, come out smelling like roses and working the repentant angle. He'll stay quiet and keep his head down. No one needs to know that he's also worked out three different ways of dealing with his zealous watcher.
I haven't forgotten you, is what the second card means.
Two Hundred and Eight Weeks by

Elizabeth waits with him through the surgery, her hand clasped tightly around his. She’s a pillar of strength when the surgeon comes out and explains in medical-ese how close Neal had come to dying. She stands with him in Neal’s room and watches him stare down at Neal, his chest hurting like he’s the one who’d been shot.
“You should go,” he says finally, after a long moment. “I’m just going to stay for a minute.”
Elizabeth opens her mouth like she’s going to argue, but then she stops herself and Peter’s grateful. “Okay,” she says, smiling like she understands. “I’ll see you soon.”
Cut-off Point by

“You want that off or not?” It comes out gruff and impatient.
Neal shifts instantly, turning so he can put his foot up on the visitor’s chair on his side of the desk, but he keeps his eyes on the scissors. The chair rolls just a little, extending the angle of his bent leg. He looks exposed, vulnerable, and Peter wants…
He wants a lot of things that aren’t what’s about to happen.
Light-Fingered by
shrift (PG-13)
Peter looked up in time to snatch a jewelry box out of the air. "You better not have stolen this," he said as he opened it. It was a sapphire necklace and earrings. They were unusual and beautiful, and looked exactly like something El would wear. "What do I owe you?"
Neal smiled. "Funny you should say that." He tossed something else at Peter. Peter caught it on reflex.
It was his wallet.
Contractual Obligations by

"Oh," Neal says, eyes narrowed. "Oh, you do not."
"Do not what?" Peter asks, throwing a look over at Neal in casual inquiry.
"You and Elizabeth do not have an... that kind of relationship." Neal flicks his fingers dismissively.
Peter thinks it must be nice to be that sure that you're right all the time, but he merely takes a swallow of his coffee without commenting, and lets the matter drop.
Neal doesn't mention it again.
Boundary Conditions and
five orders Peter gave Neal in public by
fahye (D/s, bondage, R)
Peter is too hungry and too pragmatic, and too conscious of the curious eyes of the rest of the office, to sit there and scowl in the hope that Elizabeth's basket of carefully-stacked canapes will somehow turn into the tuna salad sandwich he actually wants for lunch. He takes some mini spring rolls and endures El's fussing at him with paper napkins.
"Well, I appreciated the champagne, Neal." Elizabeth gives Neal a warm smile. "Very thoughtful of you."
"You weren't -- wait --" Peter coughs on his mouthful of food. "I was in Chicago chasing down your reckless ass, and you sent a bottle of champagne to my wife?"
