I was just recently thinking about my mother's brush with death, as it happened right around this time of year just before I moved into town. In fact, it delayed my move by a month. It's weird, by the time I knew she'd nearly died it was all fine and there was just the healing process to go through. It's much easier to gloss over what nearly happened and concentrate on everything else, but it just hit me again, and made me realize how likely it is that she will die before I do. I don't like that. But I want to try to come to grips with it a little more before I supress it again. You know, just on general principle.

In other news, I still miss having you around. It was a beautiful night the other night and I happened to be up in your old neighbourhood. It reminded me of last year when you were coming out of hibernation. I need someone to go on walks with. I don't like having good friends who live far away. It's garbage. I need to finish your Xmas present so I can send it, along with Fierce Invalids, which, you may already know, I finally finished. It was awesome. I have a twenty minute long distance calling card that came free with fish. I'll use it to call you when I find a suitable phone to do it from.
