Helllooo Sisters~
Tinola is the Filipino soup dish with chicken, spinach, ginger, garlic and bellpepper. The original Tinola uses green pepper leaves (Instead of spinach) with green papaya or Chayote. Green Pepper leaves can be bought at Oriental Grocery stories. Some American and Mexican grocery stores have green Papaya and Chayote.
Cooking Material Needed
-One Pot
-Oil
-3 Clove of Garlic (Minced)
-1 Whole medium Oion
-1 Small half of ginger (Minced)
-About 2 and a half chicken breasts (Or any kind of chicken available)
-1/4 of a Bellpepper
-Some Spinach (Or Green pepper leaves)
-Chicken Broth or 2 Chicken Bouillon and Water
Optional: Green Papaya or Chayote
Seasons: Salt/Garlic Salt and Pepper
Serving Size: About 3 to 4 people
Cooking Time: About 25 to 30 minutes
Instructions
1) Put a some oil in the pot and turn on the heat.
2) Mince up the garlic, ginger and sauté in the pot.
3) Cut up the whole onion and continue to sauté with garlic and ginger.
4) Cut up chicken breasts into fourths and place in pot add to the sautéed vegetables.
5) Mix until chicken breasts is slightly cooked and add seasonings.
6) When most of the chicken is cooked, fill pot with chicken broth up until it covers the chicken. If you do not have chicken broth, use 2 chicken bouillon and water.
7) Let it sit until it boils and when chicken is cooked. If you have Papaya or Chayote, add them in after the chicken is cooked. (Check wellness by cutting or poking it to see if it's pink)
8) Add bellpepper and spinach/green pepper leaves. Lower the heat.
9) Let entire dish simmer until bellpepper is tender.
10) Taste to see if it's to your liking. If not, add seasonings to your liking.
11) Turn off heat. Serve with rice.
