Writer's Block: Forbidden Reading

Oct 19, 2008 01:45

I've got London Fields under my bed at the moment.  I hid my library copy of Practical Magic.  Reading Lolita required a lot of arm-twisting on my part and a lot of compromised morals on my mom's.  I've also hidden: Haunted by Chuck Palahniuk, The Tenth Circle by Jodi Picoult, and The Other Boleyn Girl by Philippa Gregory.

The only one I'd consider a favorite, though, was The Catcher in the Rye.  I'm allowed to read it now (it's required for school), but it wasn't when I snuck it at age 12.

teen reading, writer's block, ya
