if you haven't read any murakami this is a good sort of intro into his style. if you dig it, dig on
south of the border, west of the sun and
sputnik sweetheart my two favorites. or if you dug his style but figure your tastes aren't exactly like mine,
norwegian wood is also a favorite for some. or possibly
hardboiled wonderland and the end of the world, which i found less emotionally striking but much more intellectually so.
