Review: Wine Kit Kat

Jun 29, 2007 11:08

While I'm on my kit kat posting spree, here's a blast from the past- the wine kit kat, a candy that is probably the only chocolate that I have ever spit out it's so nasty. These were on sale last year during a time when they released several "luxury" kit kats. The inherent contradiction in a luxury candy you can buy for around a dollar in a convenience store seems lost on the Japanese.

Anyway, wine kit kats taste nothing like either wine or chocolate. Instead, they taste kind of sour and left my mouth feeling like it needed to be scraped out.

There was one teacher at my school who absolutely loved them, though- he would buy two bags a week of the mini ones and eat them all day. This was also a teacher who ate school lunch everyday- one has to wonder if the kyushoku fried his taste buds.

Stats: No longer available, thank goodness.
