Nine Rings of Vos - Arc 6: Defection
A Transformers: G1 Fanfiction
Author: Sanjuno Shori Niko
Summary: The night before was enlightening... now what exactly is Soundwave supposed to do about the answers?
Timeline:
Anything that has happened is written in the stars... =/=
(
This was far more trouble to write than it had any right to be. )
So then for the second method, the sparkling detaches right before the new protoform is 'expelled' from their creator's body? And I'm assuming that it's the standard method for Seekers under normal circumstances. Would the enslaved breeder Seekers be forced to use the first method?
And thank you! You've put so much world-building work into this thing, it would be such a shame to have it ruined by my brain spinning around trying to reconcile everything from the vague clues in what's been posted. You've gone into the theories of how sparklings "grow up", but haven't really gone into the carrying process. The closest was when the first triplets split, but that was focused on only their sparks... Also, how does repeated merging to ease the strain (mentioned when they were carrying the first triplets) fit into it?
I also love Soundwave's different terminology for everything. It really reinforces the fact that he's from a different culture on Cybertron, It'll be interesting to see his backstory!

Yes. In the second method the newspark detaches from the carrier spark and drops into the waiting protoform. Once the spark integrates into the shell, the pod detaches from the carriers spark chamber and the sparkling emerges. First stage hatchlings are mostly transparent polymer and protoform mesh - they have no armour and only the most rudimentary systems. The look a little like someone crossed a manta ray with a tadpole then stuck blinky lights on it. As for the enslaved breeder Seekers, they were experiments. Some - like Mirage's Formatter Faberge had no choice, and suffered forced detachment. Others like Hound's Formatter Basset were allowed to carry their sparkling to full term.
I like world building. So it's no problem clearing things up for you. As for merging easeing the strain on the carrier - merging provides extra energy and/or materials for the carrier that the sire has already refined and processed. Less effort - more gain.
Soundwave is from Seiber. It's - well. I'll let you all find out for yourselves what it's like there, but lemme tell you, writing about it was a trip and a half.
