for my father.
You can't save anyone, I don't want to save anybody.
I know love, and that sets me free.
Like a lake you are still
Your waters flow with the ways of the world
And the creatures that dwell within you
Are helpless without your nourishment
So you give and give and give
And your only solace
Is the setting suns warm rays
Glistening atop your surface
If your waters should run dry
Your fish and frogs and birds may die
But lakes find rivers and clouds float on
And frogs are princes
That sing sad songs
Cos life is love
And makes worth living
A privileged life from one lakes giving
My little bird beneath your wing
Had hers clipped off and can not sing
Her tree above your deep blue waters
Was burned down by evil hands of fathers
So trust your little frog prince boy
Who sees the world through songs and toys
That baby birds denied the sky
Need love and care
And room to cry
And little frogs
With sad heart mothers
Are sons of yours
And also brothers
So if your lake should cease to be
I'll sing a song
For you and me
