Well to set the mood, I was pretty stoked for the Death Cab concert. I've heard two of their CDs non-stop in Phil's car for the past month or so (which did make me hate them for a bit, but also got me used to them enough to like it), and love the Postal Service, and haven't been to a concert in forever because I don't really like concerts, but I was still excited as have never been to an emo concert before. Naturally I dressed hardcore emo for the event. So we get there and since Phil is majorly emo, we had 4th row tickets. I was tired and happy the venue was a sitting one. Then death cab comes on and is all like "this is a rock concert, STAND UP." At which point my life was ruined. IT IS NOT A ROCK CONCERT, IT IS A FUCKING EMO CONCERT IT IS NOT NECESSARY TO STAND AS THERE WILL BE NO DANCING OR MOSHING. So instead of sitting and watching them for an hour or two, we had to stand still and watch them. It wasn't really an interactive show, like Marilyn Manson's with the strippers, just them playing their instruments and occasionally moving. The highlight was when the main singer tripped on stage, because at first it looked planned and more rockerish like he was about to smash his guitar and go crazy...but alas it was a mistake. For their encore they came out as the band "Devo" since it was Halloween, and covered six of their songs which was kind of over doing it. For their credit, they do play well onstage, just boring. And I was happy to go because Phil was there awwwwwww. After the concert we met up with Marina and Mike along with Phil's friend Matt, and Matt thought Mike and Marina were goth just for halloween, priceless.
