bird as a prophet
today i am missing class due to a ladytown appointment.
i've been having a good past few days, getting back in to school, homework (which is oddly satisfying), visits from andy at ACAD.
my classes are working out fairly well, i'm in a really painful drawing class ("nature drawing") which i am going to take on as a challenge to keep it interesting for myself. i'm in a fibres class (mixed media) which i am totally excited about. and an english class (Identity narratives: native studies) which is just repetition from grade twelve at nutana. i've even read the book for the class before (and then reread it this week).
last night andy i went to a benefit show for cystic fibrosis. the dudes played and smyth and kang had a mini fashion show. we didn't stay till too late, but we had to make an appearance (and buy a ticket!) because a friend of my friend is in need of a lung transplant, and the goal was to raise $10 000 for the recovery. they raised even more money! yay.
and speaking of shows, we also went last minute to the christine fellows/john k samson show on tuesday night. we actually didn't even stay through JKS's set, because apparently we're old and can't handle shows that go past 10:00 anymore. haha.
oh! and as i was noting about saskatoon a few weeks back (re: crime rate) my mom's golf clubs got stolen out of our car. poor lady. seriously, can you imagine a stereotypic robber in a black ski mask tiptoeing down the dark street with a bag of golf clubs on his back? ha ha.
