a couple of things I wrote back in Basic (part 2)

As that was the first, this is the second. I'm splitting them up because they might be a bit much to take in one sitting as is.

We spill our blood in foreign wars on foreign soil to give those foreigners the freedoms that they do not know enough to want. We bleed we die we stand upon those foreign sands for months on end without the home that we all talk about when talking with our friends and though we know that this is real and right and holy in that new and godless way, the smell, the fight, the men who are our enemies by night but not by day (in light they smile, and smiling stay) serve wholly to dismay. We can but try and pray, and this is why I say, although it pains us all when any of us fall, that sand so caked in blood of patriots of ours cost far too much for us to just give way and I will have my price, in freedom, both for them and from our fear, in power, oil, or any other coin that we hold dear, for we have spent the blood-soaked pound, not haggling in court to save our skin, no technicalities, no twist, no spin, nor any other ethical decay. We do what we must, try to be just, and pay.

All feedback is welcomed and appreciated.
