Gotta love CVPH
So, walmart has had some minor construction going on to fix our water pipes. It normally wasn't so bad, but when I was working it was either during the day with no workers, or I was leaving shortly after they got there. Not so on Thursday.
Thursday night they came in about 8:30, started work then. No biggie, just pulling up the plywood we all thought was covering cement. Nope, big hole in the floor they weren't finished digging yet. I was working on a register right next to the giant hole. They started digging, I started suffering. I finally called a CSM over to get me off the register becuase I couldn't breathe thanks to my allergy to dust. They send me on my break, one tells me when I come back I can have dust mask. A second CSM tells me to go to a differant register, and it's far enough away I won't need the mask. The lady behind me kept saying how walmart was kiling her baby, and if she miscarried or the baby had birthdefects she was blaming walmart. Around 10 another girl went and told managment I was about to have an asthma attack, I got sent home, and the girl gave me a ride home to make sure I got there becuase I couldn't do much more then cough.
I made a cup of coffee, and slept.
Woke up yesterday, my lower chest felt solid, I could't take full breaths, and when I tried it hurt. So...call in late for work, and go to the ER. Two breathing treatments later and the verdict....dust from the construction settled into my lungs, causing or irratating airway restriction. The PA said changes are, I do have asthma, but to get an offical diagnosis I need to go to a pulminologist for a test, and if I haven't had an issue in the ten years since I got dianosed witht he warning signs, not to even bother. (Then I get a paper saying it's life threateing and to get an offical diagnosis...hence the subject)
Get to work at noon, was suposed to be 11:30-7:30...they changed it to 1-9 so I could getmy inhaller. Two hours later I finally punch in, and they say it's cool, I can work 2-10 to make up the hours I missed.
4:30I punched out for the day...after two managers and a CSM told me to go...just becuase someone twisted what I said of "I couldn't breathe this mroning" into "I cant breathe", and that I was crazy for trying to work a full shift after this morning.
I waited till Alex got off at 5, and we went home together. I told him I;m defective and to send me back. Seriously, what else can go wrong this year?
