While picking her way through the murky darkness of the swamp, Kim heard a faint cry for help. When she rushed forward, she saw another adventurer struggling in a patch of quicksand!

Kim made an Intelligence check with a difficulty of 11 . . . and rolled 17

Kim, thinking quickly, produced the ten-foot pole and length of rope that she conveniently had been carrying in her backpack. Using those tools, she was able to easily construct an apparatus to save the sinking adventurer. In thanks, the adventurer gave her some gold before heading off into the swamp.

Kim received 69 XP and 16 gold.

Wait! What?
My character just HAPPENED to have a TEN FOOT POLE in her backpack? My HUMAN character.

That hurts my brain.
