happy easter!!?? i'm not sure whether or not to celebrate, but why not alteast attempt to make it a happy-er day than otherwise??
the past weekend started off with a buzz from my sidekick from radioshack. It was thursday, and it was full of that juice that makes you really excited... work @ 5 til 3 left me only looking up. 2 friends and another friend of a friend leave for detroit round 3:30/4 (4 ttal) in good spirits, in attempt to enjoy some good not-too popular music.
Success!! The opener was 'starlight desperation', sounding a bit like 'the darkness', an over-zealous leadman with tights and a mean stance w/ guitar in hand dominated. No overhead cabling for Peter-Pan like flying though... 'The rapture' was next, 'disco'. Wow. m-ch, m-ch, m-ch, mmmm.... hard to describe the beat. disco. thats all. otherwise about another 30 genres mixed in for...well... it was a dance party anyways... BRMC was Exquisite. calm and collected as usual, the 3-some staired down at the stage more than anywhere else, letting the crowd know they were serious, ( i htink). peter walked calmly around in his traditional cowboy boots and all-black getup, the same shirt he wears at EVERY concert ( even last years' tour.) Some dumb-shit showy lesbians made there way up to the center stage as if on a dare, making out and word has it feeling each other up right in front. I tried to ignore them. one girl actually made it on stage, they threw her off thank goodness, it was rightin the middle of a light acoustic song w/ harmonica.
Taking place @ the Majestic, the bowling alley next door was rampent with fans or just other people who would rather be 'out' than 'stuck in'. Mr. Peter Hayes of Black Rebel Motorcycle Club seemed more approachable than ever, usually extremely introverted and/or boxed-up. We made conversation. Not onlly that, but the pizza i had just purchased was getting cold. He has many secrets.. dark secrets... heheheh. He even smiled once.. i don't konw why, maybe a cute girl had walked by... I guess there next album is all acoustic. 24 tracks already recorded... trying to bring back the Bob Dylan, Neil Young's of the world he said..
The drive was soooo ridiculous the way home, 3 friends sleeping, all of which had gotten about 7 hours more sleep the previous night... oh w-hell. 3am we left.... nodding off and yelling my lungs out at the same time to try to even the score in the game of life VS death. We had made it home, but not without Ben's friend Leah's purse-thing getting stolen, including a phone and other trinkets she didn't care so much about.
