The Onion AV Club just posted their Summer Movie Preview Fall DVD Preview 2007, which was nice of them because it not only gave a quick preview of what's coming, but also got me started with the inevitable mockery.
With money short this summer, I can see there are only three reasons I'll be convinced to shell out for the tickets:
(A) Certain friends will die if they don't see it, and it's more fun to see it with them
(B) Sequel to an established story that I've already bought in to
(C) New product from a creative team that I admire
MAY 25
Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End (A,B)
JUNE 1
Knocked Up (C)
JUNE 29
Ratatouille (C)
JULY 13
Harry Potter And The Order Of The Phoenix (A,B)
JULY 27
The Simpsons Movie (B,C)
AUGUST 17
Superbad (C)
What are you looking forward to?
Because of school, I'm way behind on the list of movies from last year. Fortunately for me, Blockbuster decided to send me a reusable $3 new-release rental coupon (1 a day for the month of May), so I've got a month of cheap movies to burn through. Any suggestions? Any movies from 2006 that you think absolutely everyone has to see?
