If you're as geeky as me then you will recall that early 2000's there was a game released based on the 2nd ed DnD game. This was called Baldurs Gate and it became so entrenched as one of the fixtures of DnD gaming culture that it can only be rivaled by Plane Scape torment - and thats saying something.
BG was the reason I failed French, the catalyst that saw me flunk Pyschology and the only reason I just passed Drama in Uni was because my gaming engine broke. This game has me by the short and curlies and wont let go. Its that Damed good.
They have made two editions of the game, each with an expansion pack and now they are realeasing another, remastered edition. All this game has to do is fix a bug here, retool a bit there and maybe - MAYBE - add the odd extra quest and Its got my vote for game of the year, hell the decade!
Gods, it has been a while since I played it and the rerelease has got me pyhed to play it again.
