This'll be pretty interesting to see you and Demidevi discuss this. I'll just address a couple things but I won't attempt joining in fully. I wouldn't be able to keep up. :O

There's so many toss-ups, lovable, and hatable characters in the FMA series. And while I didn't like the fact that Ed and Al got seperated, I suppose it was a price they kindof had to pay. Luckily, the movie will be contining the series. Now that you've seen the end you can stalk the movie! <3

And about Rose; I absolutely hated her. :/ I couldn't stand her and how weak she acted as well. She did, though, lose everyone she cared about which might explain some of her actions, but she didn't try to get everything under control again. Like you said, she turned to religion for selfish reasons and did deserve the whole losing her faith and hope and something to follow. I don't think she deserved the whole raping and having a kid because of it, though. At that point, it did look like she was trying to repent and at least do something. In the manga, I don't think she makes another appearance after the Sun God arc.

Since the manga is still going on, it hasn't really addressed the ending yet but it is very different from the anime. If you read the manga and watch the anime, you will notice however that some of it has been adapted in some form or another.
