Biggest suckers in the world and quotage.

You read right.

Biggest. Suckers. Ever.

We have two new kittens. (Which friends had been trying to get us to take for a while. ...Finally worked.) So this makes four cats in all. (That live with us, at least. I still count my two girls I left with my parents.)

Sisters. Mithril and Silver. 8 weeks old. They are total purr factories. (And leg climbers.) They've been in the bathroom since yesterday afternoon. They've got their first vaccine, have been dewormed, are negative for FelLeuk/FIV, and have been bathed with Dawn original soap to try and kill some of the adult fleas; they'll be getting their anti-flea stuff today or tomorrow.

Slinky spent most of yesterday behind the couch, in a sulk. Chirp spent most of yesterday afternoon/evening under the couch. I saw him once.

Slinky's expressed curiosity about what's behind the bathroom door and we've been giving him some extra attention, though he's been more pet-reluctant than usual. (You smell like kitten, mom!)

Both the boys got catnip when we came home from the vet. And we've got some treats to give them each time they meet the kittens. Positive associations and all. Not sure if Slinky likes those treats, though. May have to find something else. (I'd say wet cat food...but he seems to get really addicted to the stuff.)

I may look into getting them a new toy this weekend. (I'd still like one of those battery operated balls with the ferret-like thing attached.)

Slinky and Chirp are ages 4 and 3, respectively. Good, in my past experience, for introducing new kittens. Though some never quite warm up completely. (Moxie still slaps the shit out of Totchi sometimes...though that may be more of a sibling rivalry thing than a turf thing.)

And it's my hope our apartment complex personnel doesn't suddenly decide to be nosy... (Of course, last night, our air conditioning unit started to leak. Again. So we've got to get maintenance over the fix that, post haste. Seems like it's done this every summer.)

Crazy...

If feminism is a movement to end sexist oppression, and depriving females of reproductive rights is a form of sexist oppression, then one cannot be anti-choice and a feminist. A woman can insist she would never choose to have an abortion while affirming her support of the right of women to choose and still be an advocate of feminist politics. She cannot be anti-abortion and an advocate of feminism.” -- bell hooks
