Greetings all. I have been VERY busy hence my lack of posty goodness. But all this WILL change in the near future. Well maybe.
Meanwhile here are a few articles I saw in the esteemed rag (I cannot in truth call it a newspaper) The Adelaide Advertiser today:
1) On page 14 there is the wonderful "Sentence Appeal Lost" when a former abattoir worker failed in her bid to have her life sentence reduced because she thought it was too severe. Her crime? She stabbed her de facto hubby 37 times then skinned him and THEN cooked his body parts as a meal for his children!!! I applaud her optimism in these difficult times. There was no harm in trying. It does make Greenaway's The Cook, the thief his wife and her lover, look a bit tame though!
2)Page 23 reveals: Man jailed over fit of jealous rage! The article states that the individual (one Steven Scott Yardley apparently) "got so upset that his girlfriend had mentioned her former partner's name that he smashed a glass tumbler on his forehead. He then forced his way into the home of her elderly neighbour- who he believed was sexually interested in her.
Armed with a kitchen knife he threatened to kill the man.
The neighbour escaped and alerted police who arrived to find the two units were alight.
Yardley helped them put out the fire and then walked to a police car and, brandishing a knife, began jumping on its bonnet, terrifying a police officer inside."
Oddly, when interviewed the next morning he claimed no recollection of the above described events. If I were him I would do my best to make sure I never remember either... What a twat!
Remember kiddies drink and fire do not mix and glass tumblers in foreheads are pretty bad too.
Just imagine what the scene might have been like if the poor gf actually let slip she was SLEEPING with someone! Not that I am suggesting she is. Just that she would be far better off if she was sleeping with pretty much anyone rather than HIM!!!!
3) Finally on page 24 there is: Photographer's Tactics a Crying Shame, say Critics where photographer Jill Greenberg is doing a series of pictures of crying 2 and 3 year old kids as a protest against George Bush. How does she make them cry? I hear you ask. Pure evil genius really... she gives them a lollipop, then takes it away, quickly snapping the anguished results. The pics are pretty neat but they have sparked international outrage with some critics wanting her charged with child abuse! Damn it dont they understand that traumatised kids are great ART???
All in all its been a great day of news :)
Cheers all
