"Tell me about it." She grimaced, taking a drink of her water and sighing softly. "But yeah. Apparently it was some big prophecy. Angel has a son. His name's Connor ( ... )

Hazel eyes grew bigger and bigger at each revelation. "A son? Connor?" Sounds Irish, Buffy thought and found it strange to be the first thought marching through her brain at the fact that Angel had a son. 'Holy crap' didn't quite cover it. For some reason, this was even more startling than Darla being pregnant.

She sucked in a breath as Cordelia proceeded to explain more. Catching up was really an understatement where they were concerned. Cordelia had lived through probably just as many apocalypses as they had in Sunnydale and had just as many crazy things to explain.

"So, he doesn't have a son anymore? I guess that's why he didn't mention it to me," And there was a hint of bitterness in her voice. Okay, yeah, Angel's life was his business, but big life things, like oh say, having a KID seemed like something you might mention to someone.

"Apparently when I was in the coma, Angel had everyone's minds wiped of all memories of Connor. Except mine. And his own." Her voice was quiet.

Stunned, Buffy nodded slightly, "Wow," she said, "I keep saying that. It's just so much has happened over there. Have you talked to any of them since you, uh, got back?"

Cordelia shook her head and looked down. "No. I haven't. I can't, actually." Her voice was quiet.

Buffy watched the other woman's reaction, brows raising in slight surprise. She wondered if there were some sort of rules after coming back from the dead. After all, Buffy was different when returned, of course, she could still talk to her friends, despite the fact they were afraid of talking to her. It was an awkward few weeks until she accidentally sang her true feelings. Woops.

"Why not?" she asked, sipping on her drink again. "Are there some weird rules you have to follow?"

She paused for a moment. "This is gonna sound crazy, but..." She offered Buffy a smile. "All things considered, I think you can probably handle it. I had a ghost in my apartment in L.A. He was friendly and everything. His name was Phantom Dennis."

Cordelia took a drink. "Well, when I woke up here, Phantom Dennis was in my motel room. Except now I could actually see him. He told me he was sent to be my--" She made quote marks with her fingers. "--guide and that I couldn't contact Angel. That we're on different paths for now."

She shrugged a little. "So that's why."

(OOC: Sorry for delay! I had finals this past week and have just been insanely busy.)

Buffy couldn't help but smile a little, but maybe it what the cocktail finally getting to her lightweight self. "A ghost?" she said, nodding along, "That sounds...handy, actually. I mean, if he, like, got the remote for you or turned off the light after you were all cozy in bed," she let out a slight laugh, "Okay, now maybe I'm crazy."

She nodded along as Cordelia continued to speak, eyebrows raising in surprise at the fact that her ghost was talking to her, "I see," she said, "I guess that makes sense. Angel is running his little world in L.A." She sighed, "My people, all the slayers and stuff and the scoobs, kinda have a hard time trusting him right now, especially with running evil incorporated. But, I know he's still Angel; he's just, like you said, on a different path right now."

(ooc: No worries! I knew you had finals and you're in the process of moving! No apologies necessary ;))

"You're not crazy. Phantom Dennis was pretty much the roommate of my dreams." She smiled a bit, but it faded at the mention of evil incorporated. "He's still running Wolfram and Hart?"

Cordelia sighed and finished off her drink. "I was hoping he'd realize it wasn't the place for him, but..." Her voice trailed off, and she stared at her glass.
