Othello at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre

Wow. It was awesome. And Iago was played by Tim McInnerny from Black Adder! Jools and I were so excited. Othello was played by Eammon Walker. It was a fantastic performance. We stood the whole time (standing tickets are only £5) in this theatre built to exactly what it was in Shakespeare's time! The original went in the great fire of London, 1666 I think. Or maybe the globe burned before then...1632? Ah I will find out sometime.

We were where the peasants would have been, and they sold beer and little things of snacks like olives and nuts and such outside the theatre! (JORDEN, I am spelling it in British fashion because it is the title of the place, so don't yell at me, I know it is REALLY spelled theater! haha).

Unfortunately, and no offense to those who are more enlightened/cultured, we were surrounded by Americans. Mostly students who were complaining about standing.

YOU BOUGHT A STANDING TICKET! IT IS SHAKESPEARE! IT IS LONG! DON'T BITCH ABOUT STANDING YOU IDIOTS! IF YOU WANTED TO SIT PAY THE EXTRA £10! FOR FUCK'S SAKE!

There were also several amazonian types standing right in front of all the short people. Have some damn consideration for our deformity you bastards!

Anyway, it was wonderful and I can't wait to see what is next! I look forward to another night in an open air theater, hopefully with less annoying exchange students experiencing London for a semester and bitching about it.

It isn't America, that is the point, if you don't like it, go the fuck home.
