1. Hospitals- One of major types of health care facilities. Vary in size and types of service provided.

2. Long-term care facilities- provide assistance and care for elderly patients.

3. Medical Offices- Vary from offices owned by one doctor to large companies. Services include diagnosis, treatment, examination, basic laboratory testing, and minor surgery.

4. Dental Offices- Vary in size from offices that are privately owned by one or more dentists to dental clinics that employ a number of dentists.

5. Clinics- health care facilities found in many types of health care.

6. Optical Centers- Provide vision examinations, prescribe eyeglasses or contact lenses, and check for the presence of eye diseases.

7. Emergency Care Services- Provide special care for victims of accidents and sudden illness.

8. Laboratories- Medical Laboratories can perform special diagnostic tests such as blood or urine tests. Dental laboratories can prepare dentures, and other devices used to repair or replace teeth.

9. Home Health Care- Used to provide care in patients. Service are used for elderly and disabled.

10. Hospice- Provide care for terminally ill persons with life expectancies of 6 months or less.
