So we finally got the garbage situation cleared up. On Friday we loaded my truck up with all of the garbage that had started accruing from November 12 until January 12. It cost us $26.00 to take it to the dump. They weighed the truck and it turns out we had 80lbs of garbage hiding in our garage! Holy crap! Then the next day we loaded the truck up with all the recycling stuffs, cardboard, milk containers and such. Filled the back of the truck up completely. Prolly another 80lbs or more worth of junk. So we discovered after this clearing out that we actually have a garage! Woot! We also have garbage service too. Two months worth of it and a garbage can was dropped off on Monday. Yay! Also recycling bins. I never thought I’d be excited about a garbage can. Heh.
Supposedly the mail key and our mail was picked up on Tuesday. I’m not certain because I forgot to ask. But that was the day it was going to be done. Woot.
Bills.. still working on them things.
So it turns out that rent is to be split between myself and Superman. Kinda makes me nervous having an $875 rent bill plus everything else between just two people. We can do it and I know Superman is good for it, he just gets distracted easily. I do too. But we can’t screw up on this. I know that he will help me to make sure things go smoothly with bills n such.
The job hunt is going poorly. More so since my current job changed my sched to be 5days a week with 8 hour shifts. No chance to go home and really job hunt. I applied at T-mobile and for some reason they emailed me a “We don’t have the guts to call you and tell you we don’t want you” email. So no dice on the T-mobile job. I’m starting to get nervous as I’ve been living in Albany and at my parents for two months with not much luck on the job hunt. Derald also did not get the job he applied/interviewed for on Thursday. Magpie hasn’t had any luck either. Gah!
I hate money.
Good news with the current job is that today I was able to finally convice my boss’s boss that I am reliable and that my life is screwed up enough that I should get an exception for a different sched. So starting next week my new sched is to be 7:00am -7:30pm Monday Tuesday and Wednesday. So that means more time at home and sleeping only two nights at my parents house. Hopefully with that in mind I will be able to talk Dad into letting me pay him less for “rent” which since June has been $75.00 a month… *sigh* It was fine when I didn’t have rent to pay.. but now… not so fine.
So yea it snowed. 5 inches or so. Not much. Got to drive in the snow for the first time in my life. Kinda scary but not too bad as long as I remember don’t brake hard and leave lots of room between me and the other cars. I also managed to get the chains on the truck by myself. Though I did it wrong the first time and put them on the front wheels. Supposed to go on the back with rear wheel drive. Doh! But I managed to get them on the correct wheels after throwing a fit. Everyone in this town freaks with even this tiny bit of snow because they aren’t used to it. Snow demons come to eat Beavertown! AHHH!! Run for … er… ski for the hills! Everything shuts down. Well almost. I did not make it to work yesterday because I was too scared myself to drive without chains or studs. Made it to work today even though they said I didn’t have to come in but wanted me to. So yesterday I had a nice time reading and playing video games and wishing that I was home in Albany. Then in the late afternoon it got better. I spent time with Bria and Terry and Guy. We had an awesome stir fry dinner, watched How to loose a guy in 10 days which is a sorta funny but horrible movie, and started to watch Casino Royal. Didn’t get all the way through cause I had to go home and sleep in case I had to work today. Bria also gave me my x-mas present. A fun looking game called Spank the Monkey. *grins*
I have a sister I swear. I just haven’t seen her in like a month and she is living with mom and dad too. When I’m home shes at work and when I’m at work she is home and when I’m in Albany she is in Beaverton and sometimes when I’m in Beaverton she is in Eugene. I’m pretty sure I have a sister.
Mom has been spending a lot of time home alone these past couple of weeks. Sara has been in Eugene or something, Dad went to Idaho to help my Grandparents move to Nevada. I’ve been working or reading or spending time with Bria. I feel a little guilty about it… I’ll try and spend more time with her.
Chores… well sorta but not quite resolved. Superman and Magpie and Derald and I had a sorta meeting this last weekend. In which Superman went off about the house situation and everyone else listened. He was clearly upset about how bad of a state the house was cleanliness wise and of course bill wise. It shocked me really. I’d been trying to figure out a nice way to say HEY I’m DOING CHORES AND CLEANING MESSES THAT AREN”T MINE AND I ONLY LIVE HERE PART TIME…. And he did it for me. He even said thank you to me for it. I really did not expect it at all. I cleaned because I’m a bit OCD and because that is what one does when one’s home is messy. I’m not saying I did all of the cleaning. Magpie did more than her fair share too, and I know Derald was probably a bit slow on the cleaning as well. So reform for chores is in order… though we never got around to deciding who does what. Derald and I put extra effort into keeping the house clean, hopefully that continued even though I’ve not been home. I ended up detailing the downstairs bathroom (toilet, mirror, sink, swept, and mopped the floor), the laundry room, and the kitchen. Started in on the dinning room but I ran out of steam.
I must say that our home does look a lot better and we actually have a living room now! Woot!
Now we just need the heater fixed, and the garbage disposal fixed.
Hopefully those were fixed while I was gone. Sadly I don’t get to go home til Friday. Soon. Soon.
Crazy life.. gotta be strong and take things one day at a time and work hard.
Good things will come.
Right?
With love and grace and …. ?
