Good day today!
Got up well before class (well class IS at 1:30...), put on a cute blouse with a skirt, wore my first lipstick purchase, made the cutest bun that I'm able to create --- needless to say I felt chipper and super cute walking down Sarnia to campus lol
Corner of Sarnia & western, they were giving away free samples of Bacardi rum with coke. Oh Western...
While crossing campus, these 2 guys were selling gelatos, which was godsent. the weather is so humid and boiling I had to buy a mango gelato (it matched my shirt & I found myself thinking "man how adorable do I look?!" haha).
On the way, Mitchell spotted me -- turns out he's in the class next to mine! I admire how cheerful and funny he is...you know you're doing something right when you can get me to be 100% comfortable with a guy. He was excited about setting up our digimon marathon day, and we talked for a bit before class started since we were early.
Also he's in my community ecology course (which Jamie said was a really fun course wohoo!) and might be in plant evolution class as well. I was so prepared to never see a familiar face this year -- I'm glad!
On the way home, Susanna spotted me. She was with a new mallu friend she'd made recently and we talked for quite a while about...marriage lol But more importantly, susanna said there was an onam celebration happening next week and if I wanted to go with her. uhh HECK YAAAASS. my tummy is ready for the paisam!
& looks like this year won't be lonely afterall. Just the first day & I run into people I'm very fond of...
Back at home, Jennie & I had a really long fun chill talk about life and faith. I think I'm starting to see why lots of catholics are best friends with other catholics. When you are open to talk about something private like faith, there doesn't seem to be any barrier to talk about anything else! I think its amazing how she can always relate the topic at hand to some tidbit she'd once read or heard. It's great to spring any thoughts I have in my head, and she can openly explain it to me as a friend. I'm excited for all the learning this year!
After class, picked up the $600 reimbursement form the ecuador trip (how amazing is it randomly finding out you're recieving $600!? thats a month's rent & spending just given to me :D :D :D!)
BEST NEWS THOUGH. I found a work study job! to research ANIME! (haha take that mom & dad, obsession did come in handy afterall >:D) Apparently, my cover letter was very impressive with the level of otaku knowledge I had lolol
I am truly truly truly excited to "work". getting paid to go on the internet to look up all things anime? YEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
I can get 100 hours for sure with this job, so I've decided I'll use part of it to buy meself a drawing table from Maria. I'm excited to learn digital art! now to find a free PS torrent...
first class: chemical ecology. 3 hours. seems like this'll be the hardest class since every mention of compounds, my brain seems to scream "HAAHAH I UNDERSTAND NOTHAAAAANGG"
one of those classes thats all about that applying knowledge life. chemistry application. screwed is the word yup.
But nah, it doesn't seem too bad. Prof seems good enough and with a heavy focus on insects, I might even be excited to learn more ;D
We learnt about these sawfly larvae who all rise up together in battle mode to seem like a bigger unit. predators don't mess.
