I've been so distracted lately. It's December already?! :(
I'm just back from waching
A Christmas Carol. There was nothing good on cinema. Friends didn't want to watch
Mulan and I refused to watch
New Moon. Lol. It's a compromise. The effects looked good (and amazing in some parts) but I think it's a bit too dark and deep for kids to understand though. Part of the fun was lost in already knowing the story. Who doesn't.
Last week was Rain's
Ninja Assassin. The storyline is a whole load of C-R-A-P (it's like they don't even try to be creative anymore). It's almost in the same running as Blood The Last Vampire or *gasp* Legend of Chun-Li. Almost. BUT you know what, Rain somehow managed to save the movie single-handedly (and sometimes with his trusty kusarigama :D) as he made it watchable and fun. Who knew he'd make a good action star. There were funny parts and the action/fighting were okay.. plus there were buckets of CG blood splattered (it's quite violent).
The week before was
2012. FX FX FX.. lame storyline we've seen a million times before (or am I just too cynical?). Bah! Humbug!
Top 5 movies Seen in November (in as few words as possible. Otherwise I'll be here forever)..
1.
500 Days of SummerYeah yeah I have a thing for Zooey but if you've ever felt strongly for someone but they're kinda sorta not sure.. you'll feel for Joseph Gordon-Levitt (bitch! xP). Fresh & hilarious..
2.
ZombielandYay for post-apocalyptic zombie movies. This one is a lot of FUN. "Enjoy the little things" ;D
3.
The Time Traveler's WifeBeautiful. Sweet. Bittersweet.
4.
Paranormal ActivityCREeeeEEeeEeEEePyyy... It was shot in first person hand-held camera view like Blair Witch/Cloverfield so if you don't like them maybe you won't like PA (however this one doesn't have as much random movement as those other movies so...). I don't really get disturbed easily watching movies but this one made me a little paranoid for a few nights after :P
5.
Inglourious BasterdsHahahah.. I laughed so much. Christoph Waltz should definitely get an Oscar nomination for his role.
urm... 6.
Bakjwi (Thirst)
Okay I didn't like it as much as Park Chan Wook's previous films (I think the man's finally gone mad xP).. but his trademark visual/visceral style is in tact. The trailers were kind of misleading..
Special mention for being the most confusing movie I've ever seen goes to..
Primer. It's a time travel movie like no other.. written by a real-life engineer or something. You can watch it 7 times and still not completely get it.
Currently looking forward to watching
Bodyguards and Assassins..
