Fatal Frame III: I'm Tormented
I was bored last week so I started playing Fatal Frame 3, which has been around for a long time but I never got around to playing. I wanted to play Fatal Frame 2, but there's only the dvd cover's lying around without the dvd. The ghosts must've taken it.
When I first started, I played at night with my surround sound headphones. Big mistake! I forgot how scary the game is. I don't usually get scared watching horror movies and all that but the first time I played Fatal Frame years ago it freaked me out and I needed someone to pry my cold dead fingers from the controller each time I was done playing.
So in this game you go back and forth between reality and the dream (nightmare) world. You control Rei Kurosawa (23), and she's hot! (is it healthy to start idolizing a video game character? -_-;) Anyway when you're in the real world and in Rei's cozy house you're supposed to be safe from the ghosts, taking a breath, getting information, restocking supplies and all that. Then there's this one cutscene where she was taking a shower.. she's nekkid and all that and suddenly behind her a woman with long, sharp, bloody fingernails appear out of nowhere and start scratching on the door. BASTARDS! *waves fist at the game makers* That one gave me a heart attack. One of the bigger ones while playing anyway. I hate this game! I hate this game! I was saying to myself while continuing to go back to the House of Sleep and get scared shitless.
Behind you, Rei! Look behind you!! AAaaaaahhhhh!!!
So after finally finishing the game yesterday, I'll say the first FF had the best (congruent) storyline, the 2nd one (probably).. best soundtrack (Chou by Tsukiko Amano is so beautiful), 3rd one.. sexiest main character ;P They're all good, really (the game!).
Just now I was watching a horror movie, even the 'suddenly-jump-out-with-loud-sound-trick' moments didn't affect me at all. I've been trained well by the Needle Woman, Impaling Girls, Stroller Grandma and the Head of Kuze.
Some beautiful but sombre FFIII wallpapers from wallpapersfactory.com. Why anyone would want the last one (with the Needle Woman about to do something unholy towards Rei) as their desktop wallpaper is beyond me.
Give me back my FF2 dvd! I want to play it!
