Show rundown of the week

Sep 23, 2011 13:58

I have an unscheduled day off today. I was supposed to do a presentation on Sense and Sensibility, but got an email yesterday morning (that I of course read this morning..) that the class was canceled because the teacher's ill. Really good timing, because I had a serious breakdown this morning about it all. I'm just not coping with uni, physically. I'm so tired. And my thyroid levels are low, but within limits, so it's probably the ME/fatigue syndrom playing up, which I'm not too happy about, which drags me down mentally. It's all a bit of a mess.

Anyway, thank god hiatus is over because I get energy from my favourite shows and characters being back :) I'm catching up on Hawaii Five-0 because I really want to see that along with the US schedule as well, even though we're only a handful of episodes behind here, assuming they'll continue broadcasting the new season immediately after they've caught up.

Here are my thoughts on the first (two) episodes of the following shows this week. I apologise in advance for my postive feedback (I enjoy show far too easily. I see flaws, but try not to focus on them, which is bad for reviewing) and the fragmentation of it, as I usually wrote these bits right after I watched the shows.
- Two and a Half Men
- How I Met Your Mother
- NCIS
- NCIS Los Angeles
- The Big Bang Theory
I do apologise for having this open for so long!! I swear I had it LJ cut correctly, but I added a letter in somewhere and it just lost my cut :O Stupid LJ!!! Hope I didn't spoiler anyone?

Two and a Half Men
Knew what was gonna happen with Charlie, so that wasn’t much of a surprise. I did like the best known girlfriends showing up again, especially the fact that I recognised them all :p I do watch this show very often. And finally Rose sounded like Rose again. I have no idea what happened there last season, but I’m glad she’s found her voice again. Literally. What an awesome cameo by Darma and Greg by the way :D All the cheers :D I might have squeed out loud :D

I quite liked Ashton’s character. He seemed sweet and genuine. The ending was a bit meh and predictable, I was hoping they would take his character somewhere else from what we know Ashton does in movies and tv shows, but it seems they aren’t. That’s okay, it’s not like I haven’t liked it before. I just hope he won't be too dumb and obnoxious therefore. I hope to see more of Jake though. I know ATJ must have school and everything, but well, I still like his character the most LOL

How I Met Your Mother
Ep 1: As much as I adore this show, it has two major flaws and they are called: Robin/Barney and Meeting the Mother-part 2,345,643,212. It’s stretching it out too much. Now they come up with this, an extra wedding?! It’s not even clever. It’s lazy. It’s that I adore the characters, but this just didn’t cut it for me. I want answers. At least AN answer. This was just stretching out plot lines that have been stretched out long enough now in my opinion. I hope the season will develop better, as it did last season. I really hope so. I care for it too much to go down. And please please, God, don't make Robin and Barney become a thing. Please, I beg of you! I can't stand the two together.

Ep 2: Better, still not mind-blowing. Good ending though! Surprising and I liked her as Ted's girlfriend. I just really hope the show will become funnier, because.. it's just not really. Aside from Marshall. As always.

NCIS Los Angeles:
All the awards!! A-ma-zing acting. Storyline not all too surprising, but I care SO much for these characters that I just go absolutely ga-ga over everything that happens to them. And that cast is just stunning, they are all so good. So emotional, just from the acting, even if it’s not all that emotional a scene. You just feel the pain. Loved it to pieces. Disappointing Hunter wasn't a bad guy, see EJ in NCIS why :p

NCIS
Wow. What an interesting idea. It wasn’t as mindblowing as Truth & Consequences was, but then again I don’t think any season opener can ever be that good, but the plot behind it was really good. Very interesting. Cannot wait what they will do with it the rest of the season. Scott Wolfe, I love you!!! Good to see him again on my telly screen.

Only bad thing: EJ’s still around.. I always hope my least favourite characters are the bad guys, because it means they’ll probably get killed off :p I’m harsh that way LOL

The Big Bang Theory
Ep 1: RAJ! Let me hug you! Gosh you adorable little Indian boy. It was really cute. Not per se a mindblowing season opener, but nice nonetheless. It’s not one to stick with me though, sadly.

Ep 2:Hahaha now this is The Big Bang Theory I like :D Wonderfully funny, and precisely how I want my TBBT to be! Awesome Sheldon, funny Raj and Howard (the kissing, Oh my god!!! XD) and Penny being all cute and funny. Yep, this one does stick :D
Off to ep 23 of Hawaii Five-0 :D
