The fact that you gotta have a specific day to do it makes it pointless. You gotta do it all the time.

Well I won't argue with that, but isn't it nice to have a special day where you can really lay it on thick? Like with gifts and stuff?

Why not? I mean...there's nothing wrong with it really so long as you keep mother's day in your heart every day of the year and all that.
