It was normal day like any other. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, customers came from all corners of the land to satisfy their need of books and the art of reading. Little did all know, that this day, despite its bright and cheerful weather, would be covered in darkness!
10 O'clock AM.
Customers flow in and out of the quaint sized Barnes and Noble. Too caught up in their own lives, their own needs, they mistreat the ever-patient employees. Not once do they ever expect that their actions would lead a certain individual to the very breaking point of utter insanity and unexplainable rage...
The inner mind of Christopher:
"Day in and day out it is the same. Customers come in and out, here I stand at Customer service... standing... I cant even get a chair... my feet are killing me. 'Can you help me find a book?' they ask, when they know thats my job, in a bookstore of all places.
And the snobby customers, who expect me to jump through hoops aflame to serve to their needs, but look down upon me when I can't help them.
And the accents! I may not have the best ears... but the least they could do is make themselves a little more... easy to understand.
One of these days I fear I may just snap!"
[Little did Bermudez know...]
Customer: Excuse me, can you help me? Im looking for a book.
Chris: No shit...
Customer: ... uhm... I beg your pardon?
*Christoher can be seen mumbling under his breath, his attention not aimed at the customer, nor at anything at all. His gaze set on what, we will never know*
Customer: Uhm... will you help me find this book or not?
Chris: Thats it! Ive had it!! You want a book? Heres your fucking book!!!
*Within mere moments, Chris leaped over the counter, beating the hapless customer senseless with the latest bestseller to hit the shelves... and the poor customer :-(*
Chris: WHat? Dont you like it? Its a bestseller, and the fucking membership saves you money... IT SAVES YOU MONEY!!!
Person: Someone come quick! This lad has gone insane!?
Jim: Uhm... Chris?
Chris: YOU CANT FIRE ME! I QUIT!
Jim: Calm down buddy... *a sweatdrop of worry drips down his face*
But it was too late, there was no saving Christopher, the world was his enemy now... and the books were his tools of vengeance.
1 O'clock PM
Two hours have passed since the incident, what was once a place of splendor has conformed to a battlefield of choas and mayhem!
Employee1: Someone subdue him! Chris must be stopped!
Employee2: Its no use sir, he fights like a demon possesed!
Employee3: Its over! :'-(
????: I wouldnt say that just yet!
Employee1: Who goes there?
From out of the darkness of despair, a ray of light emerges from the entrance of the temple of knowledge and learning. To those that knew Christopher well this man would be easily recognizable. To those who weren't... had just met the villain's best friend, Kris.
Chris: What brings you to my lair oh servant of the vile ones? I know all, you have come to slay me and steal my treasures. I am not a child to be punished!
Kris: Chris... you and I are friends... we've been through thick and thin since we were little. However, I cannot stand by and let you harm innocent women and children.
Chris: Then battle we must... old friend.
*The old friends rush headforth to battle, weapons drawn with the intent to...*
6 O'clock PM
It was once a magnificent store of books and fond memories, it had later been defiled and transformed into a place of hate and evil... all that remained were the remains of what was once called Barnes and Noble... And withing the ash and rubble two worn and battle weary figures can be seen. The settling dust reveals the victor of this battle of epic proportions.
Kris:... I have won... but I never wanted things to end like this Chris, you know that right?
*Chris can be seen laying defeated, with each breath he takes he cannot help but cough up blood as well*
Chris: It is alright my old friend, if things had to end like this... at least it was by your hands...
Kris: But why?! You didnt have to do this in the first place, there were other options, other paths to take.
Chris: I was swept up in the moment of passionate feelings, no matter how dark and dim they were. Im sure any other time I would have regretted these decisions... but today I truly lived my life to the fullest, with no regrets. The hands of fate willed it to be this way, and I accept it *coughs up more blood*. Goodbye my friend, I will miss you, and all the good times I had in life... *as his eyes slowly close*
Kris: CHris... CHris! CHRIS!!!.......
*Kris slumps to his knees*
Kris: NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! *Kris finds himself sobbing uncontrollably*
Kris: I knew what I had to do... but I wished deep down inside... I mean... wasn't there another way? Life won't be the same now...
A drained and depressed Kris walks off into the sunset, leaving the days events and tears behind. For even though he rose to the challenge, and stood the victor of a trying battle, the was no victory to be had this day...
