That Old Couple

I saw an old couple today as I sat by listening to the gospel. The husband was probably in late 70's, holding a walking stick on one hand to guide him through his steps. His wife, still radiantly beautiful at early 70's. Their seemingly children or probably grandchildren were with them and upon seeing the couple, one man stood up and gave away his seat. And then a funny thing happened - the old couple started arguing who will get the empty seat, in a very endearing and giving way that I even stood up and offered my seat. They were just too cute and so much love going by them. Finally the husband gave in, and had to slowly take the empty seat. Eventually someone also got the wife a seat.

But what hits me home is how much they take care and love each other. Imagine, at 70+ and weak knees for walking, he still can think of offering his seat to his wife first? And it reminded me of the many times I would always end up standing up because you get "dibs" on seat.

And I realized, I don't want to deal with boys anymore. I need real men, gentlemen who can truly care. I think one who can wear his heart on his sleeve and show it off to the world, act on it and genuinely care & love someone, makes one more manly than anyone else.

If only I knew.
