When it hits you
That he really won't smile for you; won't talk to you same lively, giddy way as he talks to people.
That he will always get sleepy, tired, and time going out with you if it's just you; but when with his family & friends it has to be timeless, unlimited, and always him willing to stay late. With me, he finds ways around traffic to go home - with them? Traffic is the excuse not to go home.
