so this is livejournal... and a bit of a rant on gerberas
i've heard about this place for years. i think i even made an account once, then realised i had no idea what this whole thing was about or what to do with it.
so here is take 2. hopefully i do better this time around.
(i think i've already beaten my last attempt - a first post definitely counts.)
also, are gerberas the most frustrating flowers around? There must be some other plant that is even worse, but I can't think of one.
They sag. Always. No matter what I do, gerbera heads never stay perky, even if I leave them on the plant.
So now all my high shelves have gerberas in every bottle I could find, since someone said not to put more than 3 gerberas in one vase, and I only have a giant vase for big bunches of flowers... so i've promoted all the perrier and wine bottles that were waiting for me to empty the recycling to vase status.
There's about 6 gerberas looking all cute and perky, and 12 saggy sad ones.
I should've bought the roses. Roses usually behave. But gerberas seem more the kind of flowers you can buy for yourself. Roses seem like something you ought to be giving or being given.
