I typed a lovely post the other day, and the computer promptly crashed. It is a shame the computer crashed, as the post was witty, erudite and all round good. Not at all what you'd expect from a sleep deprived mother of 1, and gestator of another. :)
It boiled down to this:
I'm having a baby shower type thing at my mother's on Saturday Feb 10.
We don't require clothes for the baby (plenty we can re-use, and lots hand-me-downs from dear friends if needed), and we really have everything else.
However, I am going to swallow my pride (if I'd done that in the first place...) and announce that our money is very tight. My mum kindly assisted us in setting up the pantry with most of the dry goods we are going to require while I am on maternity leave, and the mortgage is hopefully covered by Usagi's wage now.
With that in mind, if you did wish to come (and I recognise the unlikelihood of that given our geographical differences) we are respectfully requesting shopping vouchers so we can purchase things like nappies and fresh foods as required.
I'm such a moron. I hate asking for presents, or saying what I want. But I have to be sensible and just get the heck over it. :)
In the extremely unlikely event that any of my dear readers would like to subject themselves to an afternoon of cucumber sandwiches and tea (no games though - you know I have no sense of humour), please RSVP here by Jan 30.
