Usagi and I went to the Fair today. Much fun was had by all and we are reminded yet again of reasons to re-join the SCA.
We amused ourselves and laughed shamelessly (well, I did anyway) at what people think passes for 'period' here. No I'm honestly not a garb nazi. I don't know enough about it to even try. However, I do happen to think that a spikey, jagged spandex mini skirt dressed up with thigh high boots, fishnets and a leather jacket are out of the allowable period. Her husband was dressed as an Orc. *weirdfluff*
The NVG outdid themselves in the behaviour stakes during their (supposedly G rated) demonstrations, with most of the 'senior' members ridiculing 'Hold' calls, rhino hiding, saying 'Fuck' a lot and generally making asses of themselves.
Usagi and I were considering joining them, but after their behaviour today, we shan't bother and will return to the SCA.
