One of the things I like about Sandy is that she’s patient and understanding. For example:
Sandy takes pity. “The word you’re looking for is different.” She eases the momentary tension with a small but heartfelt smile.
She doesn’t get defensive about Jared, she just lays it out for Jensen, simply and honestly. And she’s not a busybody. She tells Jensen to ask for himself and as a friend, that’s the best reply ever!
Poor Jensen is really struggling with things, most especially his engagement to Tom:
It’s the way it always is and this stupid engagement certainly isn’t going to change that.
If we all had the ability to go back and analyze ourselves over the past week, month, year, I think we could all pinpoint a spot and say, ‘Huh, that’s when I started feeling that way.’ Unfortunately, we don’t have the time, and as for myself, the inclination (because it’s hard to look back and see the good and especially the bad), to do such a thing

Thanks so much for the super detailed comment. I love getting these. They provide insight into my writing and always help me feel like my next story is going to be that much better because of it.
Tom isn't quite loveable. He's a screwed up puppy but we don't know that right away. What we do know is that he wrote something that touched both Jensen's and Jared's life in a very meaningful way. I personally found that fascinating because Jared and Jensen are such different people. So Tom was able to put on paper something that was real and honest.
My personal backstory for him always had the book containing the bulk of Tom's emotions. Like he unloaded and then shut the door and decided nobody was going to hurt him again. Well, you can live that way, but you can't love that way. It's tragic, really.
I love this, a lot is due to having an autistic brother (Aspie too!!!) so I can really empathise with people who can't understand them, but also empathise with Jared because I have had an insight into Asperger's and it really annoys me when people don't bother to understand them :(
This is looking so good so far, gonna slowly read this over the next couple of days in between exams!
Thanks so very much. It means the world to me to hear I handled the Asperger's with sensitivity as that was very much my goal. Although ultimately I just wanted to tell a good love story. I look forward to hearing if you enjoyed the conclusion.
Thanks so much. Jared's honest very much is the core of who he is. And Jensen is so jaded in this story. It's very much a tale of two people needing to find each other to be whole.
This is an amazing story. It's totally becoming one of my faviorites. Jared is just absolutely adorable and so honest. Jensen is so inredibly sweet. I just wish that Jensen would stop all this madness with Tom and kiss Jared already!!!
Hi again. Yes. Jared in this is so honest. He's this burst of sunlight and it's taking Jensen out of his self-imposed tower. Of course, it does take a while for Jensen to break free :)
