Not that this was simple, but Jared had been so convinced, so sure that something had actually happened to Jensen. That the curse was real.
I'm so glad that you included this entire section because both Jared and seemingly Jeff readily accepting that Jensen had been cursed was confusing me. I kept waiting for "curses are real in this world" to be established in this 'verse but this scene works, too.

An’ then I gave him an apple and he disappeared into the park. Love all these little fairy tale references and touches.

I'm glad you liked my handling of the 'magic' in the story. It's a tight balance between what is and isn't real. Yet the story is grounded very much in reality.
You plucked out my fave lines, especially the 'hurt without you.' line. Thanks for saying my love/sex scenes are working. I'm always so worried about this.
