Happy New Year!

So, Year 2006 is here...

It didn't start out on a very good note. Communication difficulties between L & I. They seemed to have worked themselves out over the course of the day, for which I am forever grateful. Of course, it helps to apologize when you've made a complete a$$ out of yourself said something you probably shouldn't have said.

Anyway, I rode my exercise bike for a little while, then we took the dog for a 45 minute walk around/on the lake. I sure was wishing that we had brought the camera along. It was a beautiful day out! When we got home, L did a little snow shoveling while I recovered from walking up the hill. It doesn't matter what direction we walk around here, it is always uphill to get home. Exercise and fresh air always make me tired, so I am currently fighting the urge to take an early evening nap, since I need to get to bed at a decent hour tonight as it is back to work tomorrow.

My daughter, H, was home from Tuesday until Saturday morning. She did some baking and visited with a couple of friends. Together, we watched a few movies, played some Sequence and talked a lot (including a 1½ hour phone call to her sister). It was so nice to have her around and the time went by far too quickly. She headed back to the north country to spend New Year's Eve with her boyfriend and his family.

One present I look forward to every Christmas is our family calendar. My two sister's gather pictures from everyone in the family and make scrapbook type pages for every month of the coming year. Birthdays are inserted on the proper date and Suzy takes them to CopyMax to have copies made for all of us. I made a comment this year about our anniversary date being missing from the calendar and then I discovered that only my parent's anniversary date is shown because it costs more for each additional entry on the calendar. So, I've talked to L about us doing the printing next year. My sisters can still do the photo pages, send them to us and we can print them puppies up and mail them out at, hopefully, less of a cost even though we are in Sweden and they aren't. We have a color laser printer (Konica Minolta 2300W) and the equipment at work to add spiral binders, so I think it could work. L thinks it is a great idea and has plans to create a php-based website that family members can add important dates to the calendar before we print it up.

So, here's to the year 2006. May it bring you happiness and joy!
