Well, again, I'm still in the land of the living in
Hat Attack! 2. In fact, I received both a hat in progress and a completed hat (meant to kill me) this week. The hat that was aimed at me, missed it's mark. It's pretty, but it didn't meet the guidelines and therefore was ruled a misfire. It was 1" shorter than the allowed length. My assassin has started a new hat for me.
The hat in progress that I received came from the UK and had one of the 4 full pattern repeats completed. I ended up frogging it any way due to the yarn not being wrapped in between the color changes. It will be mailed back to the UK tomorrow toward it's intended target, who should meet her demise by the end of the week.
Death Hat #3
Work has been busy. I'm preparing to do a major overhaul of the student computers during week 44 (the last week of October) while the kids have fall break. L is going to help me and we are preparing master images of the 4 different types of computers that we have for the students. I hope to finish it in the first half of the week so that I can go visit my daughter at the end of the week.
I have a question for those of you that have ever lived in another country or are currently living in a country other than the country of your birth. What do you miss from the country that you are NOT living in right now? If you could have someone send you a care package of things that would give you pleasant memories of that country, what would you ask for?
I just received a package this week from someone in the USA. We did a swap, I had some yarn that she wanted from Germany (it's difficult to get ahold of these days), so she sent me things that I miss from the USA. I got pecan flavored coffee beans, fig newtons and beef jerky. She also sent me some cracked hominy. I'd never eaten it, so L and I had some yesterday. It was good and we want to try some recipes that we found on-line. I also ask for kool-aid and vanilla flavored coffee creamer from the States. Of course, Reese's Pieces or Peanut Butter Cups could never be wrong! I always have a long list of things to pick up when I go back to the USA to visit the 3Ms. It usually involves me bringing an empty suitcase with me.
Well, I look forward to reading your answers!
