I don't understand what's happened. I never have any interest in the friends page anymore, and even now that I'm in Paris, I have no desire to update. The first thing that made me think 'oh I should write that in lj' was this little incident:
My mother came and picked me up from the airport. She was on the last leg of her month long holiday in paris (she totally stole my idea) and was leaving the day after I arrived. She did motherly things like buy me a month-long metro pass and 5 hours of net time, and washed my dirty washing that I took overseas with me (yes, even some stuff that I didn't want to have with me, I was just too lazy to do it back home and didn't want it smelling my room out) and last of all, she said 'here, we bought two phones for a very good price, but they're only good in europe, so you can have them. The second one is for when you loose the first one. So what do I do? Well, she leaves at 4:30pm from the hotel room (my bed time) and I don't even walk her out, I'm so tired. I hadn't taken the phone with me. I'm sure you can see where I'm headed. Anyway, the next morning I went out to do some adventuring (after being awake from 1am, my wake up time) and who knows if I packed my phone, I can't remember. Anyway, I lost it. This is the third phone that I've had for under 24 hours.
Anyway, now that I'm on a roll, I'm enjoying the typing, so I'll keep going. I stayed in a hotel for a few nights, my mum paid because she could see that I was too exhausted to actually work out a place to stay, and I can't afford accomodation, which is nice because I probably would have slept in the metro or something.. that would have been pleasant. I'm now staying with Ellie Garran, in the teensiest flat, that already has 2 beds in the only room. I'm sleeping on a cussion. I managed to sleep till 9:30 though! Today I am going to hang out with Govinda, a random ex-canberran who emailed me because he came across me on couchsurfing.com which is pretty cool. Tomorrow I'm going to go see my grandfather who lives in Rome. For some reason I've been annoyed that I'm going for a whole week, I feel as though I'm missing out on Parisian fun, but I guess Rome can't be THAT bad. I'll just eat enough pizza and gelato to make up for the lack of it here.
I just booked tickets to Stokholm. My friend Matt Silver lives in sweden and I said I'd visit, although I coulnd't contact him, so I haven no idea if he lives near there or not, and if he'll be around on those dates... but I couldn't go past 0.2euro's for the return flight.
Now I just need to decide on where I'll be for new years eve. I've got a friend in so many different countries... too many choices.
I'm going to the Alliance tomorrow to do a placement test to start french classes, 3 hours every day. The plan is french class, then an hour of busking every day to try and pay for what I lost paying for the course.
Theres a book shop called the Abbey bookshop and I accidentally can't help calling it the Abbey Road. There was a cute Australian boy who was working there, but it annoys me that he's Australian. Cute french boys aren't aloud to be Australian!
Well this has been somewhat fun, if not long winded. I'll try keep it up. Internet is expensive though, and Eleanor has free internet, but I won't be staying here all the time. But it's worked out perfectly, she said that if I give her free fiddle lessons (she plays, and is my advisor on busking) I can stay here whenever I don't have somebody else to stay with. When I get back from Italy I'm staying with a guy called David. His english is terrible, which is good, I might actually be forced to speak french.
I miss the warm weather, the river, and the fruit.
