Sleep Well, My Angel
I haven't posted any music in months. That's something I definitely need to remedy, so I give you a song from WE ARE THE FALLEN, who's album released last month. Just so you know, the album is awesome.

Click to viewThis song along with I AM ONLY ONE, which I posted a while back, are my favs. Beautiful music. Beautiful lyrics. I love trying to discover the story behind a song. At first, I thought this one was about a woman having to leave the love of her life. Maybe he wasn't good for her. Maybe something from her past has come back to haunt her. Maybe she gave everything she was to him, and it wasn't enough. There are so many stories that can end with this song. Or begin with it.
But then, I started thinking differently about the song. It doesn't exactly fit, but it could be about a girl giving up her child for adoption. The child is everything to the mother, but she's not in a place to take care of her angel, so she has to leave. I can picture the mother watching the baby sleep, her tears as she hands the baby over to new protectors.
Gut-wrenching, this song is, no matter how you look at it. But it's lovely, too.
Both my stories could be way off, but that's what I love about music. You can interpret it in so many different ways.
