I see I'm still terrible at keeping with western holidays...

It's a commercial holiday though, and most lovers don't celebrate it with much spirit or deep meaning.

Mmm, this is one of the stranger holidays I've seen here, but then again...

From what I read, it used to have more meaning than it does in modern times, which is quite disheartening.

I've seen odder... I never quite understood St. Patrick's Day outside of Ireland.

Indeed... Many things lose their meaning with time, but there's always hope time will give it meaning again.

I believe a patron saint of the country, but the meaning has become so diluted by silly traditions and "required" alcohol consumption that I'd have to research to remember.

Well, at least it can have it's meaning between you and whoever you choose to share it with? Regardless of the general population's thoughts on it.

Something beyond our grasp. I think part of it has to do with the famous (or rather, infamous) stereotype that the Irish are all drunks.

His antics can be quite embarrassing, despite his well intentions and idea of fun. I've grown use to it over the years, but there's still moments I'd like to hide my face when he does certain things.
