A/N: my biggest apologies! I shoudln't make a promise i couldn't keep! but here is the update!

“So, what if you fell in love with the demon, once, leaving your element defenseless while the other demons running around killed him. It doesn’t mean you’ll fall in love with the demon, again.” Howon said, hand clasping onto his younger twin’s shoulder, hoping his little sarcasm would help lighten up the mood. Then again, when has Hoya ever laughed at his sarcasm, before?

The younger doesn’t say anything but simply stare blankly out the window. Howon, sighs. It was hopeless having a brother who didn’t like to talk much. The older man had opened his mouth, fully ready to give Hoya the ‘you need to talk in order for the world to understand what the hell your thinking’ lecture before stopping himself when a small smile grazed itself upon Hoya’s lips and the usual cold look in his eyes were replaced with warmth.

“YAH! Get back here Nam Woohyun!” Howon hears, his brows raised as he focused his attention on the scene outside the window.

Sunggyu had the water hose aimed straight at his Woohyun. Though, his guess is that Woohyun, being the cute and playful person that he is, started the water fight, first. Sunggyu’s soaked clothing confirmed it. “yah! Yaaah ah! Hyung! I’m sorry!! I didn’t’ mean to- ahhhhhhh hyung! Seriously! Ah! Oh no you didn’t hyung!” the Lee twins watched as Woohyun and Sunggyu soaked each other, fighting over the running water hose laughing, while Sungyeol ran for cover behind a rose bush and Sungjong pranced about the lawn singing happily.

“NO?!” their attention was brought from the scene outside to see Dongwoo standing beside them. “My Yoellie! He doesn’t like water!” the red head shouted with his hands clawing at his red hair in a state of panic, “he’s the element of fire, doesn’t mean he’s literally ‘on’ fire.” said Myungsoo, shaking his head before the corner of his lips tugged upwards at the sight of Sungjong’s jolly self.

While Howon wanted nothing but to go out there and help his Woo bear battle the water element and his water hose, he had other things on his mind that needed more of his attention. Like, how Hoya’s eyes held a glint of sparkle that was struggling to shine some more. Or like how he’s never seen Hoya smile like that at anyone other then Chunji. It irritate him so to think about that name and the person which that name belong to. That is why Howon was determined to make sure what he said to Hoya earlier, about not falling for the demon once again, his secret mission to accomplish. Besides, Howon doesn’t think he could live a day, without Woohyun’s goofy smiles and the feeling of his tiny body against his when he hugs him. ‘if water dies, again, the rest will too.’ Howon mumbles.

“did you say something, hyung?” asked Myoungsoo. “nope! Not a word. Come on! Let’s go rescue my Woo bear from that evil villain!” the eldest shouts, grabbing the red hair’s arm. “YAH! You mean let’s go rescue MY YOLLIE from all the water flying around!”

Myungsoo finds himself shaking his head more than usual lately, and he does it again before turning to his best friend. “shall we join them?” he asks, smile and all. Hoya let’s out a breath, tearing his gaze away from Sunggyu and moving away from the window. “no, I have work to finish here. You go, have fun.” Myungsoo, unbuttons his black uniform, making his way towards the door. “I’m sure Sunggyu sshi would like for you to be there, but I guess it can’t be helped that you have so much work to work on.” Hoya watches as his best friend sends him a taunting look. “would you rather I give you the file the elders wanted you to work on, or are you gonna go skip around the lawn with your precious Sungjong?” “touché!” Myungsoo chuckles, walking out the door and sending Hoya a backwards wave. “have fun with those files!”

************************

Sunggyu wasn’t a bit disappointed at the absence of Hoya during their little water war. Though, he had to admit it would have been nice to see him. Sunggyu, only ever saw Hoya during their late night meetings in the garden, due to Hoya’s work. Which, sort of made Sunggyu a bit confused. Howon, was Hoya’s older twin brother, yet, he seems to find time to meet Woohyun even when Woohyun didn’t want him there. Sungyeol and Sungjong didn’t seem to have a hard time meeting up with Dongwoo and Myungsoo either.

“he’s probably busy all the time because everyone else is having fun and leaving him all the work.” mumbled Sunggyu as he rubbed his head with a dry towel.

*************************

The whole day was spent with him helping Chundong clean the hospital ward, restock the shelves, and made medical jokes only them and Sungjong would understand. And now, he’s an hour early and waiting impatiently for Hoya to show up. Sunggyu, got up and walked on over to the white rose bush, his finger traced the rose’s peddles, wondering where Hoya could be. Couldn’t the guy simply take a sniff of the air and come running into the garden looking for him? ‘no, I guess that only works for Woohyun.’ Sunggyu thought, huffing and pouting. “god, what is wrong with me!” hands were thrown in the air and he plops down onto the green grass. ‘why is it that I feel so attached to this guy….wolf ..guy….’ Sunggyu made a whinny grunt before falling over onto his side. “why am I so early, anyway?”

“long day?” Sunggyu straightens himself up. “Ho-Hoya sshi!” he watched as Hoya unbuttons the buttons on his dark red uniform before taking a seat at his usual spot, underneath the tree and furthest away from the garden entrance. Sunggyu’s heart is suddenly lifted, his mood a bit brighter then a few seconds ago.

Hoya, never really spoke more than five words to Sunggyu, but he didn’t mind because he likes to think he could read body language and that somehow, Hoya had been looking forward to their nightly meetings, also. He watched as Hoya let out a breath before leaning back onto the trunk of the tree, chin tilted upwards to the sky. “no, stars.”

Staring had become a habit of Sunggyu’s, of course, he doesn’t know he’s doing it till something comes out of Hoya’s mouth and if nothing ever comes out of Hoya’s mouth then Sunggyu could be staring all night long and he wouldn’t give a care in the world. “n-no, just…the m-moon, tonight.”

‘calm down!’ Sunggyu mentally shouts, placing his right palm over his chest. When he did look up at Hoya again, he saw him pat the spot next to him motioning for Sunggyu to sit there. His breath hitched up a bit and his heart ran as fast as it can possibly run. His mind signaled for him to tell the other no because he was perfectly fine where he was sitting but his body had already made it’s way over and he was now seated next to the werewolf.

Sunggyu couldn’t help but steal glances at Hoya from the corner of his eyes. Before he knew it Hoya had leaned down, his head resting on Sunggyu’s small shoulder. “I apologize, but I am a bit tired, tonight.” he swallowed, “n-no! go ahead.” he stuttered, eyes lids blanking rapidly as he tries to shift his attention else where other than the husky masculine smell of which belong to Hoya.

*****************************

“Why do you elders always do as you please?!” Myungsoo questioned the room full of elders. Everyone seemed a bit shocked at the outburst that has come from the normally quiet and understanding Myungsoo. “Myungsoo, be respectful.” Hoya chimed in. “I apologized for Myungsoo’s lack of respect,” Hoya continued, glancing over at his best friend and daring him to challenge the elders again. When he felt that Myungsoo had calmed down a bit he continued. “It is of great honor that we have you elders to remind us of our duty and where we stand. I’m sure the humans’ would take it much more serious if the elders were the ones to deliver the news, but I feel that we four should be the ones to tell them. We are, after all, their guardians.”

Myoungsoo’s father, one of the elders, stepped out from where he was standing. “Thank you, Hoya. I’m afraid my son has much more to learn when he is speaking to a room filled with wise elders.” he took one look of shame at his son before turning to the head elder, elder Lee. “I think your son is right, elder Lee. I second his motion. The guardian’s should be the ones to tell their elements.” Hoya and Howon’s father turned his gaze to Hoya. “well said my son. You shall be granted the permission to tell your elements. But you will have till sunrise in three days to break it out smoothly to them. Am I understood?”

The only four younger men in the room nod their heads. “Howon my son, I’d like to speak with your element. Your’s too Dongwoo.” Howon and Dongwoo both gulped, eyes wide. Why did he want to meet with Woohyun and Sungyeol for?

********************************

“I hate my father.” Myoungsoo voiced out as soon as they reached their secret meeting hall. “he can’t ever be satisfy with the fact that his son is the weakest out of the four of us.” Hoya sighed, sometimes he wished Myoungsoo’s father would understand and see just how strong and amazing Myoungsoo could be. “then, show him.” said Hoya.

“I hate him, I’m glad he doesn’t know I can do more than what he thinks I can. When the time comes, I’ll show him so much he’ll never know what hit him.” Hoya shook his head. “why don’t you point some of that energy towards telling Sungjong what he is.”

***********************************

“I was told you two are trained professionals?” Elder Lee spoke, Woohyun and Sungyeol looked at each other, nervous and scared. “Woohyun, is it?” the elder asked, shifting his gaze to Woohyun. “yes.” the elder smiled, Woohyun certainly was a great looking guy. “and Sungyeol?” he eyed the other human whoo nodded. “I hear from Howon that you two like to teach. The expected mothers will be delivering soon and we will be needing teachers. Howon tells me that we should educate ourselves about the humans also.” Sungyeol’s eye twitched. “why do you speak as if you aren’t human yourself? I mean, aside from being able to transform into a werewolf you…. are human. In some kind of way.”

Elder Lee laughed at the tall awkward boy before giving them the old teacher supplies they used to work with. “this…..these are old?” Sungyeol asked, a bit confused when he saw unopened school supplies and text books. “we haven’t had a human teacher in a while. I thought it was useless to begin with. But since you two are here, and your trained professionals then I guess it wouldn’t hurt to put you two to work, now, would it?” Woohyun’s eyes widen, his eyes scanning through the room full of supplies.

“I hope you two put these to good use, they’ve been sitting here for lord knows how long, now.”

*********************************

“are you lost my boy?” Sunggyu is startle when he turns the corner of the long hallway and bumped into someone else. “uh, actually yes I am, sir. Would you be so kind as to point into the directions of Elder’s meeting hall? I wanted to talk to the head person here about me and my friends being here.” the short man smiled, “why don’t you have a cup of tea with me first, then I’d be glad to point into the direction of the Elder’s meeting hall, hmm?” Sunggyu smiled at the cute little old man. His eyes had so much spark in them. ‘what a jolly old man.’ thought Sunggyu before he smiled and nod.

“a doctor?”

Sunggyu nods, “yes, me and my friend Sunjong. We were actually in our last term of internship and were ready to become actual doctors, but this happened so…..well.” he rubbed the back of his neck then laughed. “I guess it’s okay though. I mean, I like it here, and at least I’m not here alone.”

His adorable crinkly eyes made the old man swoon. ‘he’s so adorable! No wonder Hoya seems so drawn to him.’ thought the old man as he settles his cup of tea onto the table. “I’m glad your not feeling homesick. Now, what would you like to speak to me about?” Sunggyu’s eye widen, “you? Uh…OH! You’re the head elder?!” Elder Lee smiled and nod.

*****************************

“the people here are very opened minded, Sungjong ah.” Myungsoo chuckled and grabbed Sungjong’s hand again. Sungjong knew that sometimes being in a relationship with the same gender tend to send some people off. But Myungsoo was so sure that he didn’t have to worry about walking the streets of Fang because here, you are not judged by what sexual orientation or what you are instead you are judged by your actions.

“oh! Myungsoo! Has Sungjong sshi finally allowed you to hold his hand in public? How adorable! Why don’t you two come in, Mr. Kwan just made his famous cream filling bread.” Myoungsoo smiles while Sungjong’s face turned red. “Sungjong sshi is still a bit shy about our relationship, but he’s getting there. And thank you but we just came out for a quick stroll. Elder Lee wants to see Sungjong at noon.”

The nice lady smiled and nod, “alright then, come by again if you two have time! Oh! Why don’t you bring along the others’ next week, Mr. Kwan and I are going to have a get together.” the young werewolf thanked the nice old lady before they strolled off deeper into town.

“no…no one seems to notice….” Sungjong mumbles, his head twisting here and there looking for any sign of discomfort from anyone. “I told you, Poky. Everyone here are open minded. No one judges.” Sungjong exhales, “I guess your right.” the younger sighs before giving Myoungsoo one of his sweet smiles and squeezing their interlock hands tightly.

“ugh, stop wit the lovey dovey stuff already!”

Myungsoo frowns, “except for that creep.” he said to Sungjong as Dongwoo and Sungyeol walked up to them. “Hyung! What are you two doing out in town?”

“yea, mut. What are you doing in town? I thought Elder Lee gave Sungyeol loads of work.” the younger werewolf gritted his teeth at the red head who had disturbed his Sungjong time. Sungyeol sighed, “butt head here decided he want to kidnap me for a picnic only he forgot the picnic basket.” the tall awkward man explained, pointing his thumb over to Dongwoo.

The red head pouted, “I was too excited, okay! I’m sorry!”

“whatever,” said Sungyeol, walking away and mumbling something about Woohyun and school supplies how he never wants to talk to Dongwoo again.

******************************************

“come on, it’s not like their going to grow legs and run away. They’ve been here for what? Ten years! Come on, Woo ah.” Howon complained. Woohyun, glared at the Howon. “if your so bored why don’t you go do something useful, like help Hoya sshi with your work or go patrol or something.” he watched as Howon pouted like a little five year. “I’m sorry Howon sshi but I haven’t seen school supplies in three months and I have to admit it feels great to get my hands on text books and rulers. Why don’t you go ask someone else to play with you.”

But Howon still pouted, he ‘had’ to tell Woohyun that he was an important element to the world and if he didn’t get Woohyun out to the waterfall soon, Dongwoo was going to beat him there and he wouldn’t have the perfect place to explain to Woohyun that he was the element of air and that they are destined to be with each other forever and that Howon was hopelessly in love with Woohyun! “YAH! Are you even listening to me?!”

“whoa whoa whoa, no need to shout. Fine! I’ll just go play with Sunggyu sshi then.” Howon said trying his very best to make Woohyun jealous. “why didn’t you just go there in the first place? Gosh, wasting my time. Hyung’s in the library by the way.” Woohyun said, turning his attention back on the brand new math text book and smiling like he won the lottery.

“like I don’t exist.” Howon said shaking his head and leaving Woohyun to indulge in all the school supplies.

*********************************

“sir,” one of the werewolf soldiers who works in the mansion knocked on Hoya’s office door. “Elder Lee would like a word with you, in his chamber.” Hoya took a deep breath. “I’ll be there in a few, thank you Joon.” said man nod before leaving. He dropped his pen on top of his files, stretched, pushed his chair in and took off in the direction of his father’s room.

“ah! My son, come.” Elder Lee said as he opened the door just before Hoya was about to knock. “have a seat.” Hoya did as told and sat in his usual spot, the chair by the balcony door. “you wanted to speak to me, sir?” Elder smiled sadly, since Elder Lee became their leader, Hoya had not once called him father but Elder Lee or sir like the rest of their clan did. “well, I want to know why you still insist on calling me sir instead of dad, I mean, I am still your father. But that’s not why I called you here.”

Hoya took a deep breath, “please say what’s on your mind.”

It saddens Elder Lee that since his wife’s death Hoya hardly spoke much. He never really spoke much to begin with but at least he spoke more than now. And then the whole incident with Chunji just made speaking more then a few sentence impossible. Elder Lee always felt a great deal of pain when he saw his second son. Hoya just carried so much weight on his shoulders all the time. “Sunggyu sshi knows, but I’m afraid he doesn’t know the full details. I trust that you will be the one to let him know. He’s a smart guy, I’m sure he wouldn’t like it if we lied to him.”

“then, if that is all.” Hoya got up, bowed and walked out.

“oh my dear,” Elder Lee spoke, picking up a picture frame, “if only you were still here. I could really use your help with Hoya. It seems like his eyes get colder each time I see him.”

************************************

“your early.” Hoya said, walking into the garden that night.

Sunggyu, nods and turns his gaze back to the stars. “your dad’s a nice guy, funny too.” Hoya didn’t say anything, just sat in his usual spot underneath the tree. “so, you’re my guardian.”

Hoya, smiled a little, of course, Sunggyu doesn’t know that Hoya smiles because his back is always towards Hoya. “yes, I believe I am.”

Sunggyu took in a breath of crisp cold air, “I’m guessing the others’ are probably freaking out by now.” he laughed, turning around to see Hoya staring at him with amused eyes. “I guess it isn’t fair, huh? I got time to get use to the whole thing and here everyone’s just going to throw it out at them.” Hoya shifted in his seat, legs moving into a cress-cross position. He wanted, so badly, to run his fingers through the other man’s hair but stopped himself.

‘why do you stop yourself from doing anything?’ Sunggyu thought, as he watched Hoya’s shadow with sad eyes. ‘why do you keep you to yourself! Why are you always so calm and quiet?! Why can’t you ever say or do what you want? What’s stopping you?!’

Sunggyu finds himself shouting all these questions at Hoya in his mind much more often then he did in the beginning. But it was better kept inside because he knows Hoya must his reasons for not speaking much.

************************************

“if Hoya sshi doesn’t speak much, then how do you have a conversation with him?” Woohyun asked, lifting the covers up and getting underneath them. “yea, he hardly speaks, actually I don’t think I’ve ever heard him speak since we got here.” said Sungjong, also getting underneath the covers.

“if he didn’t have a twin brother then I don’t think any of us would ever know how his voice sounds like.” Sungyeol said, sitting up in bed.

Sunggyu rolled his eyes. “Hoya may not speak much, but he speaks. I don’t see why everyone has to make such a big deal out of it.” the younger ones raised their hands up in defeat as they all settled into bed.

***********************************

“you guys haven’t told them yet, either?” Howon asked. Myungsoo blew up his cheeks, shaking his head. “Sungjong looked so happy taking a stroll through town that I didn’t have the heart to tell him and ruin his day.” Howon sighed, “and you? What’s your reason for not telling Sungyeol?”

Dongwoo sat up, “I was going to tell him when I took out for a picnic,”

“butt head, here, forgot the picnic basket.” Myungsoo interrupted.

“shut up Soo! Anyways, he wouldn’t speak to me after that so…uh…hey! What about you?!”

The elder Lee twin shook his head. “Woohyun, rather spend time with his precious text books and rulers and shoved me away.”

The three of them sighed, “wait, what about you Ya?”

They turned to Hoya who was reading a book. “he knows.”

“WHAT?! You told him?” they asked as they all surround him. Hoya rolled his eyes, closing his book. “he knew before I even got to tell him.”

“WHAT?!” the three shouted.

“he knew? How did he know?”

Hoya slammed his book on top of the coffee table. “why don’t you guys figure out how your going tell the others’ instead of asking me how Sunggyu found out.” with that said Hoya left the room.

“well,” Dongwoo said, “that’s most I’ve ever heard his speak.”
