Cloud Atlas. The Wachowskis, who can really favourably be described as decent action directors, are making Cloud Atlas, one of the most narratively complex novels I've ever encountered, into a fucking movie. The directors of the Matrix trilogy and Speed Racer...making THAT into a movie.
