The bit of my local pub that I normally sit in is no longer available to eat food in - it's a 'drinking only' area. This doesn't make any difference to me under normal circumstances (since I normally don't eat there anyway), it's just something I need to be aware of if I ever do think about going there for more than a beer ( Read more... )

four of them were from the Liberal Democrats. Do you get the impression they think they can win here?!

So farewell then Harry Patch. The last surviving British soldier from the WW1 trenches. Not quite the last WW1 veteran, which is a bit of a shame, but when people *think* of WW1 they generally don't think of the naval battles - even though they were actually more important in the overall scheme of war.

Yeh, local and european elections yesterday in England, and the local election results were announced today. They won't count the Euro-elections till Sunday, cos that's when everyone else votes. We, being British, always have our elections on a Thursday ...
