odd things ...
1) on the way home on Thursday from the reading group I go to, the bus driver on the bus from Ripley looked remarkably like Radovan Karadžić. Very odd ...
2) a lot of people give their houses names in this country, like 'Hillview', 'Dunroamin', 'Ivy Cottage' etc. However there is a house in Alfreton called 'Dunpayin'!! Apt ...
3) I intend to go on holiday at the end of October/start of November to probably visit danu_scathach, but before then I think I want to go away anyway. I've got 36 days' holiday to use up by the end of March ... I think i'll go away to somewhere remote, maybe to clear my head to write, for a long weekend ... if the weather was good enough I'd probably walk along the canal towards Leicester and Milton Keynes but I can't guarantee it won't rain. lots.
4) speaking of writing, I did finish a poem a week or two ago. But I need to tweak a couple of the rhymes. It's a bit darker than my usual gubbins ...
5) I'm still unfit ... did a few short runs to "interesting" places like Teversal (to watch a football match; Teversal v Bourne Town, FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round. Yep, there *were* less than 100 ppl there!) and Alfreton, but nothing too much fun.
