It is weird comparing peoples' apartments here to the apartments of people from home who have just moved out. It's like everyone in Encinitas lives in an Urban Outfitters spread (I'll leave it up to anyone who happens to be reading this whether or not that's a good thing), but people here kind of have the broke college student + arts and crafts décor going on. I guess it's just another symptom of the fact that in Canada, and particularly in Québec, people can actually afford to pay for a large portion (or all) of their expenses during university, and also most people I know here are less rich than everyone I know at home, so students' money needs to go other places than into fancy home accoutrements.
I really like the word accoutrements. I especially like "vaginal accoutrements": menstrual cups, NuvaRings, and I guess dildos. Speaking of NuvaRings, there was one just lying on a sidewalk corner near my apartment last week. I hope whoever was having really public sex was using backup birth control that week.
