Old friends...why bother?
I got a phone call from Lex who I haven't spoken to in about a year I think. It was weird, I didnt even recognize the number. I answered and she said "hey Sandy", I said hi. She asked how I was and what was going on and since I wasn't even really sure who I was speaking to I just said "nothin much how are you?" she said "fine, do you even know who this is?" and I said "I think so" she said "its alexis" and she laughed.
She then said she was calling for two reasons, one to tell me she'd seen me downtown at Pat's dancing with friends but was scared to approach me. I told her that was for the bachalorette party for Jessica's sister. She asked if Jessica was my girlfriend and I said no jessie's straight and we are just bestfriends but she and her husband have moved to Florida and blah blah blah... that whole scenerio. Then she asked if I were going to the Hanson concert next week and I said no that I didn't have the mulah for tickets, and it was sucky cuz I hadn't seen Hanson and years and while i'm not all crazy for them like I was 13 years ago, I still have love for them and they'll always be one of my faves.
Well anyhoo, she said she was going to the Hanson concert, I told her that was cool and to sing really loud for me. Then she got really quiet, and I was gonna tell her I had to go but she then asked "hows bug?" (Bug is my son's nickname) I told her he was getting big and I couldnt believe he's gonna be two in December, and how he's talking so good and sometimes I can't get him to stop talking, and he's learning to count and say his ABC's.
Then she asked who I hung out with nowadays. I told her that I didn't hangout with anyone really, but how I'd had a great summer I told her how I labeled it the "3OH!3 summer" because thats what CD was constantly playing in my car. She told me how retarded she thought they were, and I disagreed and told her how the music was good they just acted dumb sometimes and how I thought it was because they are purely a commercial band and their fans knew it. Then she ranted on about other stupid bands and I sort of cut her off and in the most mellow way I asked why she had really called. She said "not to argue, just to tell you I still love u and to see how Bailey is doing" and I just said I had to go then she says "thats how its gonna be huh?" all i could say was "thats how you made it, I've moved on what I did with you was a mistake".
Then she just started getting into my personal life likes its her business, and started ridiculing me for all this stuff. I told her I heard that enough from another old friend of mine and how she can't be that great of a goddamn friend if she did what she did to me, and thats when she brought up my shit (which I've already admited and apologised for) so I said I've handled the mistakes I've made and I paid for them so please dont call me trying to push it in my face, and I hung up.
I started to think, why do people have to constantly make me pay for stuff I've already admited to and paid for? I do believe in Karma and I've gotten a ton of bad Karma but I know that you can repair it and I'm trying to fix that. That call from Lex was stupid and I hope she loses my number.
