He woke up that morning to an empty bed. The usual scent of breakfast missing in the air, along with the ever present music coming from the keyboard in the living room. It was silent, very silent. He looked out the window as tears lined his eyes, it was snowing. He never felt so alone.
He walked around the apartment. Was it really this big? he never noticed before. All around the apartment he was reminded of their time together. The couch where they used to cuddle into each other. The dinning table where they used to go over their work material and where they used to eat the meals they made. And along the shelves, were various photos, from group pictures to single portraits to pictures of them together. One photo stood out, it was one of them when they went to look at the cherry blossoms.
Walking on a small path, under a furry of sakuras, a soft cold breeze gently brushed against them causing the younger to move closer into the other for warmth, a small blush creeping its way up his face.
They continued to walk the rest of the path, talking and taking pictures along the way. When all was silent, only the sounds of laughter coming from a group of children playing nearby could be heard, suddenly, out of nowhere...
"I love you"
It was the first time either of them had said these words in the couple of months the've been together. Caught off guard, but not entirely suprised since they both knew they loved each other from day one--they were just too shy to say it out loud. Smiling as he drew himself closer into Ueda's build, Kazuya responded with an "i love you too," his voice close-to-inaudible, but he knew that the other had heard him loud and clear.
He smiled at the memory, tears threatened to escape his swollen eyes for the nth time that day. The apartment reminded him so much of the other. He needed some air.

Bundled up in his thickest coat and a loose touque pulled low over his ears, he wandered around for a while under the falling snow, trying to think about something else.
Somehow he ended up at a small park across town. Tired, he found a bench and continued his thoughts, not really beliving that Ueda isn't here anymore. Then he remembered the last time he saw him, the day he left for his trip to England.
"Okay babe, i'll see you," Tatsuya said as he pulled his lover in a hug after a kiss they started fifteen minutes ago.
"Yeah, don't forget me okay? And don't even think about hooking up with somebody while you're over there," Kame teased as they pulled away, a little pissed that he had work so he can't tag along with ueda in this trip. Okay maybe more than a little pissed, he cant even go see him off at the airport because he had to be in the jumisho in thirty minutes. So now here they are, saying goodbye in their apartment.
"I'd never, i love you and only you. You know that right?" Ueda replied. Even though they didn't say their "i love you"s very often, they both knew how much they meant to the other.
"I know, i love you too. It's just that i'll miss you." Kame admitted, pulling the other into another hug.
"I'll miss you too," he whispered into the younger's neck just before he gave him a kiss, slow and deep, just how they both like it. "Don't do anything stupid while i'm gone, okay?"
"Yeah, yeah i know. Okay then, i guess should get going." Saddness evident in his voice as he picked up his bag and headed for the door.
Ueda noticed it and reassured, "Don't sound so sad, Kazu. I'll be back in a couple of weeks. We're a group now, KAT-TUN has built up an unbreakable bond over the past few years. Our friends are here with you, you won't be alone. And besides, to me, wherever i am or wherever you are, we will never truly be apart. You are always in my heart and i know that i am always in yours. I love you so much that i am always with you."
Kame noded with a sympathetic smile. Ueda grinned, he really loved this man and he knew how much his lover loved him back. They once again drew closer for the last hug before he left, little did they know that this was the last point of contact they'll have of each other.

"Ring, ring, ring."
Kame woke in the middle of the night to the sound of a really annoying phone. He glanced at his clock, 03:28. Suprisingly, he made it out of his bedroom and into the living room without hitting anything, considering that he had his hands over his eyes the whole time, trying to block out the light as he turned them on and rub the sleep from them at the same time.
"Moshi moshi," he asked into the thing that just stopped ringing.
Silence met him. He was about to put the phone back down, thinking it was a prank call or something, when he heard a familliar voice in the other end.
"Kame, what was Uepi's flight number again?" Jin asked in a shaky voice.
Puzzled, Kame answered, "171 london-tokyo, why?"
"I thought so, i remembered Taguchi made that joke about it saying it was lucky or somethi--"
"Oi, did you call me in the middle of the night just for this?" Kame asked a little mad at the sudden intrusion, and is not the least bit sleepy anymore.
"Oh sorry, but um...well...well, just turn on your tv, channel 12."
Why the hell is he watching tv so late at night when we have to be at work early tommorow? And why the hell was he telling me this? Kame put his thoughts aside as he picked up the remote to turn on the suggested channel.
"--eaking news. I repeat, we have just recieve notice that flight number 171 london-tokyo has crashed into the sea just outside England at 00:46 am this morning--"
Kame froze. He dropped the phone. He couldn't hear anything else, the words of the reporter still ringing in his ears loud and clear. flight 171 london-tokyo has crashed into the sea--.
Still frozen, Kame stared at nothing in particular. Jin's worried voice on the other end of the phone, which was still laying on the floor, added to the tv's noises filled the otherwise silent room.
"Kame? Kame, you there? Kame?"
...
The tears that threatened to fall just before, are now flowing non-stop at the memory. Liar, you said you'd be back.
It's been half a year since that phone call, it seemed like it was only yesterday that they were holding onto each other for dear life as they said thier goodbyes. It hurts to remember, so why can't he forget? Maybe to him, forgetting the memory means forgetting a part of him.
He just sat there for a few hours, the crying had stopped sometime during then, so had the snow. He could see that it was getting late and realized that he hadn't eaten anything since dinner the night before, he didn't really care though. So with tired and once again swollen eyes, he headed back to the other end of town.
On the way home, his thoughts wandered back to the loved one he recently lost. Memories of him, his touch, his scent, everything about him. That was when he realized he missed him so much. He really wanted to see him again. He realized that he can't live withought him.
So with a hazy train of thought, he walked closer to the curb, getting ready to step out into the busy street once the lights turn green. I miss you so much, but don't worry i'm coming.
Green light.
He was about to take one step towards the road when a ridiculously strong wind blew against him, strong enough to push him down to the hard concreate sidewalk. Then suddenly, don't do any thing stupid while i'm gone, okay?, Tatsuya's voice echoed in his ears, our friends are here with you, you won't be alone...wherever i am or wherever you are, we will never truly be apart. You are always in my heart and i know that i am always in yours. i love you so much that i am always with you.
Once again, Kazuya was in tears. Crying, as he remembered the words of the man he loved so much. Crying, as he realized what he was about to do, he really missed him, but he knew that Tatsuya would not be happy if he ended his life for him. Hundreds of thousands of thoughts raced past his mind's eye as he sat there letting out the tears he had held in for quite sometime. Even though he cried many times in the past six months, he had never really let out his tears, until now.
The sun is now setting in the background, he can feel the snow starting to fall again. Wiping the tears away, he stood up and continued his journey home. Now he knows that he is not alone. He is now reminded that there is always someone there for him, that Tatsuya never really left his side. With thoughts such us these, he felt like he can continue to live. To go on. Together with his friends, together with Tacchan.
Owari.
