Can Anybody Help Me?

I couldn’t find any DW or TW fic search communities, so I was hoping that someone on my friends list could help me out.

Thanks in advance.

-         Are there any fanfics with Jack’s coat/Ianto’s suit as a pairing? With the clothes thoughts or something like that? A friend and I are wondering if this pairing exists ever since the episode “Fragments” ( Read more... )

Were you hoping River Song was actually Captain Jack?

I was hoping DESPERATELY that River Song was actually Captain Jack. See, if River Song had actually been Captain Jack, that would have made everything cool and neat and heartbreaking. However, she was just some random human Sue, and the entire two episodes make me simulataneously die a little inside and vomit in my mouth.

See, it's just that the Doctor having a romantic relationship with a human that isn't Captain Jack creeps me out. Because the Doctor's Companions -- and I mean this in the nicest way possible -- are really kinda his pets. (Martha's comparison to "stray dogs" in season three's "Utopia" was right on the money, I thought.) Which means to me that the Doctor getting together with a human Companion will always smack of bestiality to me -- or possibly pedophilia (what ELSE do you call it when you get involved with somebody _860 years younger_ than you?!).

That's why, if I HAAAAAAAAAD to choose a romantic interest for the Doctor, it would be Jack, because Jack is the closet person there is to a Time Lord, since he has been living, and is going to live, so very very long. (Except if he got together with the Doctor NOW, I'd have to punch him in the face, because he may NOT cheat on Ianto.) With humans, though, it just ... unsettles me. And it somehow makes the Doctor ... _less_. Less than what, I'm not sure -- I don't think it's a question of less than what. Just _less_.

Rose said it in Season One; he's "so much more" than a boyfriend. And so I HAAAAAAAATE what they're doing to that concept. I HATE RIVER SONG.

... but that's just me; sorry, I didn't mean to go on like that. I just have ... ISSUES with those episodes. :P :P :P (I go on and on and ON about this on my LJ; read at your own risk ... ;-D)

I don't think I want The Doctor to actually regenerate into a woman. It would be too easy for the writers to fuck up. It's more like a fun crack idea to me. Though, I think it would be very possible for timelords.

I love you for thinking it's possible, at least; and I too fear the fuck up. See, if it was done right, it would be the most magnificent thing in the history of writing; if it was done wrong, it would probably end the show forever. So them's some pretty big stakes -- but OH, the level of coolness it could be ... ;-D

I have to admit I was really iffy about River Song. However I loved that she had some Captain Jack like qualities and the Doctor eventually loves her.

However, I think that his relationship with her was more like a tragic extended relationship with Rose. I don't think that they were "lovers" in the sense that they slept together. I think it was just a more mature version of something similar to what The Doctor and Rose had. With the fact that she dies for him, one day, constantly hanging over him.

I loved Forest of the Dead and Silence in the Library, but I'm still not sure about River Song as a character. I think that when/if she appears later on we'll see more of her faults, though.

I wasn't sure about Donna becoming a companion before. Now she's one of my favorites. I had been hoping for a spunky but flawed companion to The Doctor that only wants to be friends for a while.
