Summary: Plans don’t always go the way they’re expected.

Freddie decided he was finally going to tell Roger how he felt. Alright, maybe the decision was caused by too much alcohol consumption, but it wasn’t like he was going to jump the other man. Besides if Roger got angry, Freddie could blame it on being drunk. Freddie left the bar to trek back to their flat.

Then he opened the door and felt his heart his heart being crushed again. Sated giggling and clothes rustling could be clearly heard from the living room of their flat. It was only a matter of minutes before they left the bedroom.

Roger grinned at his friend who was on the couch, “When did you get back?”

“Just got back.” Freddie smiled hoping the mask he kept up for these occasions was still working. He turned his head to see who the flavor of the day was. She was a blond like Roger, seriously how much narcissism did Roger have?

“How many drinks did you have?” The girl sounded concerned.

“Ah well… I find that alcohol, taken in sufficient quantities, can produce all the effects of drunkenness.” Freddie replied easily.

“I love Oscar Wilde,” she responded excitedly.

“Roger, will you look at that. You chose a cultured girl this time.” Freddie grudgingly starting to like her. The girl smiled back before she kissed Roger and left.

“What were you doing getting a smart girl, Roger? She’ll leave you.” Freddie teased while dodging Roger’s swatting hand.

Freddie bit his lip as he remembered why he had wanted to talk to Roger. He had to say it, “Roger I…”

He could see Roger’s blue eyes waiting for him to say something. The words were choked in his throat, he couldn’t say it now.

Freddie sighed, “never mind.” Maybe they should rename Sod’s law, he thought.
